Practice: Perform planks several times each day, trying to hold the position a little longer each time.
Use body-weight exercises: The plank workout will improve your core strength.

It does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. But you can only change the duration of the exercises in 10 second increments. It would be nice to have finer control over it.
