We open the season with a celebration of the energy and sensual splendor of Latin culture with LATIN HEAT. These classical and contemporary Latin works will include our third world premiere by Colombian/Belgian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and our first world premiere with one of the dance world's enfants terribles, Italian wunderkind Mauro de Candia.
Director's Cut is a thrilling and innovative evening that includes a bold collection of short dance films plus three works including one of the most influential ballets created in the last 30 years, William Forsythe's In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated.
For 400 years, Hamlet continues to be one of the most important and revisited Shakespeare works and we premiere the provocative and elegant Stephen Mills' Hamlet with music by Philip Glass. This is followed by the return of my Carmina Burana after a ten year absence, a magnificent dance and choral spectacle presented with George Balanchine's masterwork, Theme and Variations.
Bowie & Queen is a boisterous celebration of two innovative musical icons that transformed international popular culture, in a pair of premieres by Trey McIntyre and Edwaard Liang.
We close the season with Coppelia and the Hans Christian Andersen classic The Little Mermaid.
