SnapNPlay music for Android
I have been attempting to use this app for over an hour. It has NOT WORKED CORRECTLY EVEN ONCE. I have experienced a 100% crash rate. EVERY SINGLE time I submit my music sample to be read it crashes. Will be receiving a refund and deleting this.
It's awful. And a waste of money do not waste your money
It treated the clef and sharp symbols as notes, didn't play any of the minims or semibreves, and the sharps were played as naturals. So basically the tune was not recognisable.
This app needs to be updated to work on the Nexus 5. The image is flipped upsidedown no matter how I orient my camera. This is a known issue for the Nexus 5.
Needs a lot of work. Thought the Treble Clef was a grouping of notes. Missed 90% of the actual notes.
I bought this app when I had a Note 3 and it worked beautifully. The music had to be altered some but it was really easy. I have since upgraded to the Note 4 and although it still takes the pictures and you can modify it, the options for changing the length of the notes no longer shows which one is which.
6-28-2012 Great work so far. Reading multiple staves and reading multiple layers on a single staff will be very helpful when you are able to work that out. Update 11-8-2014 - has this technology improved at all in the last two years? Or the last 10? I would pay again if your app was improving.
Really helps with guitar when I get stuck. I highly recommend this app to any musician.
This is well worth the money!
This app saved my marriage!
Keep updating
Wonderful idea, but if your music has any marking at all (including a flat in front of a note or a piano marking) it will screw everything up. If your music is extremely spaced out with out any markings at all, it might work well, but other than that, this app is horrible. Don't buy it.
Nice idea. Wished it worked. As a violinist I needed something to help me with note reading really high notes that keep changing key. This app doesn't work with naturals, sharps, or flats. It is useless for my needs.
I really like this app. It has video help tutorials, if you follow the directions it works really well. Note recognition is better than smartscore. It can work with different types of music and has an edit function. It also has a combined function to create one piece of music to save as a Midi file. This feature could be more robust as well as having the ability to capture more than one line of music. But a great app, useful to all musicians.
I am an Alto in a choir, and we NEVER sing the melody. I don't own a piano and don't play well in any case. Our new Director doesn't give out rehearsal tapes and I was literally in a panic until I found this program. I wish I had found it sooner! It does see notes that aren't notes sometimes, but it's easy to edit so no problem there. I would really like it if I could snap together more than 9 lines, though. I can't get all the way through any of my songs with 9 lines.
I could hardly believe how well this app works! It scans my music, bar by bar, and plays the notes. You can set treble or bass clef, key, and even include rests. And when you are done, you can export to midi. Very well done. Helps me a lot for sight reading. One of the reviewers mentions that you cannot do rests, but you can. You just need to select the note on the scale, and then choose the icon that looks like a note. This allows to to manually assign any note (C3, Bb5, etc.), and at the top of the list is a rest. Great app! Really love it.
Mind blown. User comments cannot describe my excitement over this fantastic app! Well worth the lunch money to have a phone that can site read
Tag your description so that this is searchable by more terms, like "music OCR".allow more days for the trial. Of course, improve recognition. Export as ABC NOTATION FILES! The latter should be quite easy.
Truly impressive that this musical OCR does what it does. The only thing stopping a fifth star is that it doesn't recognise rests.
Its ok. Not worth money in my opinion. Cant even save the ones u combined. Its not user friendly. Cant figure out how to do anything. It needs a home page. But id REALLY like if u could combine and save it!!
I absolutely love this app! It makes reading music so easy!
Bought this app as my daughter is learning to play the sax & it helps her be more confident to know she's on the right track with tunes she's never heard before. Easy to use too, def' recommend it.
Love it, has helped a ton so far in learning to play. Definitely worth the price, totally recommend for anyone learning to play
My phone can sight read for me!
This app is great for learning to read music. Its a diamond In the rough right now, but it does function and the customer service from the app developer is top shelf
Updated 5/2012: This software is wonderful, and is constantly improving. The note recognition is now very good, making this a very useful little app for learning melodies and rhythms. The developer is quick to fix bugs, and also very responsive to suggestions. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent app. PS I would like to see more features like the ability to join multiple snapshots into one, an easier way to see what rhythms are being interpreted, fullscreen on Galaxy Note, and export as midi.
the program does what it says but it sometimes occationally picks up on blemishes on the page of notes and / or the tie bars at the top of the notes, or misses notes all together. otherwise a very promising program.
Seriously impressive app, but needs a UI overhaul like I need to get laid
I also went for full app...looking forward to future features...like being able to access saved pic of sheet musik and having some control to correct missed notes and to be able to export a complete piece ...TY :-D
This app is great! Of course it's new so it is missing features. I would love to see the following in the future. -Key/Time identification/distinguishing -ability to read accidentals -Clef identification -grand staff (piano music) reading All and all I believe this was $3.99 well spent and look forward to seeing even more come out of it. By the Way: I'm on a Motorola Atrix with CM7.2RC1
Please add alto clef. Great job so far, looking forward to seeing what else is in store.

This app is fantastic, but ONLY if you have music reading ability already. It really saves my behind in learning parts for church praise team and choir. However, the notes are often slightly wrong, so you need to know enough about reading music to edit. It works best for those who can read music, but need to strengthen sight reading
