Camera Awesome for Android
Worked great until a few weeks ago! Very picture I take it comes out blurry.
I simply love this app!! It takes great pictures and videos, you can edit them in app. Only problem lately is it crashes everytime i try to edit using my Samsung galaxy camera 2. It had worked previously with this camera, no sure why it wont now. I have app on both ios and android platforms. i wish you would expand features on android system that you have on ios.
Hi there, I have just purchased your app, seems like it will be great but have noticed touch exposure is not working for Samsung. Can you tell me if there will be a work around to this. It's actually the only reason I bought it. My other apps do all the same things but I wanted that feature. Thanks
Truly an awesome camera but not able to move around the exposure point on my phone. Is it my phone only or applies to all galaxy s4. I will gladly give 5 stars if only all these features work. Please give me some feedback. Am I missing something here.?
All of a sudden my video randomly stops recording. Can't get to go longer than 4 minutes. Never used to have a problem. I got this app originally for the control during photos, and for selective exposure this app can't be beat. For everything else photo, FV-5 is the winner.
I got the app to open once, and now it just hangs on a black screen, even after I stop all my other apps so it has the most RAM available to it. Seems like the features are what I need but I can't even open this thing and use it.
Had a great HDR mode. Now that I have lollipop on the Note 3, the app immediately crashes on open to the hdr feature. Disappointing they won't update it.
App works great on nexus 5 and love having the tools to properly fix exposure. Without a dedicated camera button the N5 didn't allow you to lock exposure. This app does very easily. Thanks!
Bought this app for my Samsung S5 bcos I used to love the ios version on my iPad. Was a little hesitant because of the negative reviews on here but I actually have no complaints because it works just fine for me. This app definitely deserves its name. Awesome af.
This app is faster than the stock camera on the Galaxy S4, and takes better photos than ProCapture. However, the HDR setting doesn't work. Locks up the screen and doesn't write to my photo gallery. Running KitKat so not sure if related to other complaints with this app and that OS version.
I don't see how this app is any better than most stock camera apps. It took me 20 mins to download it so I couldn't even ask for refund. I do not recommend anyone this app. It's chunky and slow.
So far I've experimented only a little with the app but a bug I'm facing constantly is that when I'm HDR mode, as soon as I click the camera button to take a pic the display freezes and doesn't take an image as well. This happens especially if I'm using the separate focus and exposure controls. Please try and resolve this asap..
App works well from my small usage but I HATE that it looks like an iPhone app. If I wanted iOS I would buy an iPhone.
Pay for an app = expect it to work. I like the sharpness & quality of the pictures, when the app chooses to work, BUT it's crashing almost every time I go to use it.
This was my favorite camera app for a while, but newer and better camera apps are popping up. This app isn't keeping up with new features let alone keeping up with bug fixes as fast as it needs to to keep up with the others. I just picked up a far better camera app for free. If it at least kept your settings like ISO so when you opened the app again it would already be set up as well as have the ability to save to the SD card, I might consider coming back.
Camera freezes and shuts down every time I shoot a picture. Looks like a nice app but not so good if it doesn't work at all!!!!!
**THIS APP WON'T SAVE PHOTOS TO THE SD CARD** I've never before left a review for an app. I felt compelled to for this one. While the camera and editing functions are awesome, this app is useless to me because it WON'T STORE MY PHOTOS ON THE SD CARD. If you have a newer model Samsung Galaxy (I have a 5) it just isn't possible, according to SmugMug. If you really let that sink in, it means that, if you take a lot of photos or have a lot of stuff on your phone memory, you are going to have to manually move the photos to your SD card. What a pain. Something that would have been nice to know BEFORE I bought the app. It's been deleted from my phone.
Great pics. Great control. ...When it works. Numerous users with problems on certain phones and hasn't been updated for a very VERY long time. Works great when it works, but the developer obviously doesn't want to bother with Android.
Worked well when I could use it on my S3 with cyanogenmod then upgraded to S5 and worked on cyanogenmod 11 and now can't even install it on lollipop(cyanogenmod 12). Contacted support and was told it works on the nexus 5 running LP and cyanogenmod was likely the cause and they weren't able to support all OS's. Future support of cyanogenmod which is still android will bring my rating back up. Edit: just realized it's been a year since update, that's embarrassing!
[EDIT] My initial review was nothing but GREAT stuff.... While the camera is still pretty decent, it has not been updated since March of 2014 and several, more advanced, camera apps have came out since then. If it wasn't for lack of progress and improvement, I'd leave it at 5 stars.. But it has fallen behind.
No longer saves to SD card after kit kat update. Please fix. Also, it crashes my phone after I take pictures, I have to pull the battery to make it turn back on. The app is basically unusable right now. I use to love this camera as opposed to stock, but I have to stop using it.
Hasn't seen an update in forever and doesn't seem to work with any of my new devices. A pity, I loved this camera even though it seemed like an iOS port with that horrible camera roll. Time to move onto something that works.
I am using this camera app exclusively on my Nexus 4 and OnePlus One. Has a great feature-set and takes great pics. However, I upgraded my Nexus 4 to Android 5 (a CM12 build) and the app doesn't install anymore. It fails to install with error "Unknown error code during application install: -505"
The HDR doesn't work, dial spins redundantly & doesn't do anything. Focus locked also appearing. Not so awesome!
Where do I start? That every time I snap a picture that I get camera has stopped working message . ( I report each and every time) or that I put the camera on hdr mode and now can't get it off. I keep tapping that button to no avail! This app isn't free. I expect more from Smug Mug!
Nice app but the shutter lag makes it unusable for me. A good 2 seconds outdoors in good light and 3-4 seconds indoors.
U telling me that I Paid for a camera app and it doesn't have an HDR .... Not acceptable... And to add to the misery, nexus 4 app has HDR but nexus 5 doesn't ...
This App appears and seems to be quite good. I've had it for quite some time now and have recently installed it and started working with it on my Galaxy GS4, So far Two Thumb's Up, ;-) :-)
Great app on KK, but it hasn't been updated on Android in over a year and does NOT work on 5.1.1....but the IOS version gets constant updates.
Great features when it works, but it crashes way too much. I can't count on it to work when I need it to so now I'm back to using Google camera. Very disappointed and would not recommend for purchase. (Moto X 2nd Gen)
When I changed phones I paid (again!) for this app for my new Android phone. Ripped off, because it doesn't work. I'm not very technical, the one thing I liked was it easily changed focal point, so I could take all those cliché sunset photos (and just generally control light). Now I move focus and nothing happens! Very disappointed and annoyed.
The pinch-to-zoom seems backwards, more zoom-out-via-spread... Using the volume +/- rocker switch would make more sense. Also, no movable AE-L on Galaxy S4; a disappointment. If this was amended, it would be a much nicer app. Also disliking the iOS design of the app. Clashes with Android, and screams lazy development.
It Is Surprising That The Developer Sold Us Such An Expensive App And Than Went In Hibernation. The App Has Not Been Updated Since March, 2014. It Is Shocking That Google Is Permitting Such Developers To Fleece General Public. The App Does Not Support The Latest Nexus 6. Shocking, Disgusting & Pathetic. Shame On You Developer. Guess You Are Nothing More Than A Thief.
Can't use slo-mo function on my Nexus 5. Works on Nvidia Shield.
Great until about two weeks ago. Now I've had to reinstall it three times.
Was using it all the time on ios and it always delivered. Doesn't work on my Sony Xperia S3 as it should be. No support for exposure and focus settings. Does it always have to be like that on android? That the apps work for some people on for some ppl not on similar devices with android?
The HDR doesn't work, dial spins redundantly & doesn't do anything. Focus locked also appearing. Not so awesome!
I purchased this app, it's always get exited automatically after taking a photo. I missed a lot of wonderful moments because of this. HTC816 users please don't waste your money on this.

App is good actually I think it is pretty awesome or was. As I understand it Smumug are not supporting any more and does not work on my HTC 10 (Marshmallow). If this is the case Smugmug need to update on Play or withdraw app?
