Morse Mentor for Android
I can not imagine this small number of downloads. It is the ideal way to learn Morse Code. I love it. There should be more users if users are aware of this app....
Super app, well done! Just got a bit confused with the need to record spaces but really improved my confidence.
It's the app you want if you really want to buckle down with a no nonsense morse trainer. It's hard at first, but you'll be amazed how quickly you ear starts to pick up morse.
Way too hard too early on
Thank you!
Excellent app. Need similar for Morse code sending.
I think not for beginner.
Nicely difficult and highly configurable
Simple and gets it done.
Absolutely the best for learning Morse Code.
Excelent
Tried several Morse training apps and this is the best. You can copy code straight into the app and it intelligently finds your errors. Interface is simple with no distractions. The built-in keyboard could be better; the key areas could be larger to prevent missed key presses. If you are careful and deliberate in your key presses it's not a big deal. Will buy the pro version.
The most configurable, the most intuitive, the most effective morse teacher out there. Even to the point of having the clearest tone, this app shines above the others. Like me, you will buy the paid for app because this is the one that taught you code. It uses the Koch method... The one developed by a psychologist years ago and lives on because it is effective. This is the app you won't delete
It would be nice if you could use your own keyboard instead of an in app one. Also, it takes way too many taps to restart the level. Finally, using 'next character in sequence' is not an intuitive way to remove a letter, it took me a bit to figure out how to go back a level.
I'd like to suggest two improvements. 1) add simplified keyboard with only keys for current character set. 2) development track keeping, like a chart showing improvement over time.
The app itself is good, but the built-in keyboard is unnecessary. Please let us use our own keyboards.
Im just starting out learning Morse, but this app is pretty good for testing my skills. Thanks!
This app is by far the easiest and most intuitive to use when practicing Morse, worth paying for.
Very well put together. Having to enter the spaces between groups focuses the mind!!!
Just what i want!
Why can't I use my own keyboard?
But if you can do 18 wpm you don't need this app to learn Morse. Not helpful to me at all.
Very limited customisation. Effectively unusable
Very useful for learning. I'm up to the letter "I" struggling to get 14 WPM as of this writing. It's the best of the android apps that I played with. My previous review had some quibbles and they were fixed, so I'm bumping up to 5 stars.
Easy to use. I have tried others, but nothing l found has been close to this in instructional value.
It would be cool if you had all the letters lined up to study for quick reference, but great for audio study
I'd like to suggest two improvements. 1) add simplified keyboard with only keys for current character set. 2) development track keeping, like a chart showing improvement over time.
Has lessons where you build up learning and adding new letters as you go. Has Farnsworth timing, very configurable.
The other ones I tried were more memorization, this one feels more like application!
Many thanks for providing such a wonderful App for a bygone way of communication. Shall be back to comment after more usage.
"10 Stars"!!! easy!!! A.M.L. DON-
Easy to set up and use. Practice anytime, anywhere. Tried half a dozen Morse training apps and think this is the best. Even better with a keyboard attached to my phone. Been inactive ham for decades, was very hard for me to learn code in the good old days. This app should have me and my home brew radios back on the air quickly. Only two, very small, gripes are . and , are reversed from all other keyboards I have, and putting a space at the end of a session results in an error.
Very cool app! Small suggestion: please disregard a space at the end of the input when grading, I'm always off by one...
Fantastic to learn morse with. Although there is no transmit feature i realized later that transmitting becomes super easy if you can hear. If only the bug got fixed where a missed space breaks the whole sequence's rating. Other than that: simple but efficient!
Why can't I use my own keyboard?
It does what it supposed to do very well!
Great app. Love the configurable character sequence that lets you learn letters in whatever order makes sense to you. A gripe - Farnsworth spacing doesnt work, it uses word speed for everything and ignores the character speed.
Just a few suggestions. 1. Increase the delay before the cw letter sent is displayed so you can say the letter before it is displayed. 2. Add feature to send cw from text so we can practice common words...etc....
I love it, but i have two requests. 1) In transmitted&entered: add color coding to the correct and incorrect parts. 2) Add the option to pause between words until the last word has been entered (or the one before that to learn to keep a few letters "in the arm"). Lovely cw trainer!

This is great. I was using another Morse app to learn to send, but this is the best for learning to receive as you can use the Farnsworth settings to play all full speed but with longer gaps between letters. Playing the morse at "full speed" has enabled me to get out of the mental decode mindset and taught me to recognise the sounds instead. Only about 1/3 the way through the alphabet so far, but they feel instinctive now instead of memorised.
