SMS to Text

I works great. It allows to select the conversation and export to txt or csv. It labels the messages as in (received) and out (sent). Even computer illiterate people understand that this is the whole conversation, and it gets exported. Granted, i don't have any friends for my test was over 5 answers and replies (the longest chain). UI is coarse but effective.

Five Million and a Half STARS!!!!! I keep message threads like a hoarder... to thw point that my phone was stàrting to freeze when I tried to type and send messages and if someone messaged me it was KO'd for five minutes... this app is my savior! Bulk transfer or by individual thread and done as a text doc easily opened/viewed thru basic apps like word or notepad. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR THIS APP!!!!!!!

I tried 4-5 different apps and this one is the only one that did exactly what I wanted. Let me select an entire conversation ( other apps were limited to small number of msgs... My conversation is over 5000msgs) , back it up as a simple text file ( no.need for other programs just so.you can read the file). After that I just had to browce to it attach it to email and send. ( look for folder sms backup or something in your sd card). If the app send the sms text file to my email for me I would give it 5 star.

Worked great, saved a specific conversation out to a text file. I have the free version, so I then used file manager to email it to myself. The conversation did have both sides (watched for this from other reviews), but every message is labeled with the other party, but with "in" or "out", so it's a little confusing. But it was all there. Great!

Totally bogus. As a computer guy I have an idea what I'm doing. Set to save in a specific folder I set set to show all files and guess what. Nothing. Not even the folder is said it had made.

Junk, attempted to pull all of my messages from a thread and it only pulled the inbound messages which is useless to me foe what i need. Please fix or give work around

This app is incredible. The reason it is so incredible is that it actually does exactly what it says with no problems or messing around. I tried several other apps to back up texts and they were all terrible. I will continue to come back to this app anytime I need to save texts.

Worked like a charm! After converting a conversation to a text file, I connected my phone to my computer via USB, and found the text file in a folder titled "SMStoText". Easy peasy! Thank you to the smart devs for creating this app!

I used to think this was a wonderful app that just does the simple thing it's supposed to do: save your SMS messages to your filesystem (SD Card) on your Android phone. It does so quickly and flawlessly, so far as I can tell. It has a very clear interface. However, I just discovered it does not save everything. I'm not sure what it saves but it did not save a conversation I really needed it to. Fortunately, the conversation is still on my phone -- but not in the backup. I am using Google Nexus 6p with Nougat.

trying to export texts and just paid for your sms to text pro and NONE of my outgoing messages are included. WHY?? It's set to pull all sms and i've tried xls, csv, html and still nothing - please help!

The interface seems simple and easy but the app doesn't actually save anything. Waste of time

I was reluctant based on some of the reviews, but to my surprise, it worked perfectly. Just have to have a file manger and know how to navigate where you saved it. Thank you! Also shared via gmail. Samsung galaxy 7 edge

Worked amazingly with the file manager plus to handle the text documents. I had office word app installed too just in case i needed it. But i didnt! I am impressed! Great app for legal purposses use. First time i felt i have to write a review!

Would have been 5 stars but when outputting the information it says export to SD card, it doesn't. it just stores the output on the internal memory. Can this be fixed? Otherwise its very simple and easy to use and does exactly what it says, except for problem on the output.

Exactly what I needed. To find the file I used a file explorer. A suggestion would be to make a setting so I can decide where to save the file? But other than it's perfect. I exported as .csv and now I can look at my texts on my computer.

I only used the App briefly, but it worked great, although I had a little trouble getting the SMStoText folder to show up in Win Explorer. Messages were text format with date, time, phn#, message. Very cool!

Fail. This like many other SMS sharing/saving apps is unable to see and save long SMS texts the phone converted to MMS before sending.

Anyone claiming this didn't give them all the information simply put in they're own information wrong. This does exactly what it says it does for free.

As best I can tell, it only exports the incoming half of the conversation. Pretty useless unless there is a setting somewhere.

This app performed well. All the msgs came through. I wish it looked like the thread in my messaging app. ES File is a great file manager.

Would have been what I needed, except it only pulled outgoing texrlts, not the whole conversation. Not useful.

I was able to save all the SMS's between me and my sister off of my Sony Xperia S, found the saved txt file using the Astro File Manager app, and posted it to myself using Gmail. It is now safely on my PC. These messages are very precious because my sister died last year. So thank you, and 5 stars for a free app.

Excellent. It does just what it says. May I suggest, however, including the option of removing the timestamp? In other words, if I want to export a group of 10 individual messages into one paragraph of text for emailing purposes, it would be nice to Omit those timestamps from the top of each of the 10 individual messages, all with one gesture. Otherwise, very nice job.

got the pro version. only copies one half of the conversation..why are there no options for both sides . useless

Bravo buddies. Great application. Very wise features. Give some customization for backround colour to be chosen instead of black colour, any colour to be chosen from a colour palette. Also at filter by conversation you can give option to choose text type (font type to extract text in the selected font). You deserve not a 5 but a 10.

Stupid. It only saves one text bubble - not the entire conversation. I can copy and paste each text bubble and put anywhere without this app. I need an app that will convert the ENTIRE conversation to text.

Users should be told and warned by the app that the license is separate from the app and the app must remain installed . The pro license alone will not permit the app to run and save sms texts.

Extremely fast and extremely easy. All I wanted was to have my SMS in pure text format in an easy to edit document and this fits the bill!

Only saved incoming texts in the file, so you only get a 1 sided convo thread

It doesn't let you send texts to your email account. This program is useless.

Locks up my phone entirely when backing up only 300 SMS messages. Malware?

Great app for storing your text messages in a simple file

Was once a delightful and very helpful app. Now it misses more than half my texts and I can't have that.

Does all that you need it to do with out the BS
