About Smart Steps Mobile
College is a time of tremendous challenge because it requires more independence. Students need grit and resilience. Colleges need to make campuses more accessible by providing support. Smart Steps bridges the gap with a layered system of remote supports for everyday problems like a lost backpack or a question in class.
Developed by an educator, Smart Steps Mobile contains decision trees for everyday life at work, school, or life. You can even write new decision trees for your campus or family.
Select a Decision Tree and walk through everyday problems one step at a time. Practical tips are included. Every Decision Tree ends up on a Success screen or a prompt to "Call for Backup".
Two levels are available:
1. Go FREE (Publicly shared Decision Trees are free; exit the app to call for help when you need to). Included: Read Aloud Feature, basic Profile screen, and Map. Select Decision Trees on the My Account page. View usage statistics on My Dashboard.
2. Decision Tree Maker - Edit existing decision trees or create your own content! Imagine being able to tailor strategies to classroom or family routines. This will reduce prompting for parents and professionals. Included: Decision Tree Maker portal access, choose color scheme, store Emergency Contacts on Help Screen and on My Proflle screen, and a Help Button. Group Licensing is available by contacting Smart Steps to customize your plan.
Please see the website www.SmartSteps4me.com for more detailed features and to create "My Account". You will need an email address, a street address, and make up a password.
IMPORTANT: This is for everyday problem solving. It is NOT an emergency response solution.
We know how stressful life can be. Smart Steps eases the pressure of making everyday decisions. Did someone ask you a personal question on social media? Check out the decision tree to help you figure out how to respond. Is the bus late? Check out the decision tree for a late ride.
It's empowering, and it provides peace of mind. It helps with problem solving, making decisions, social skills, safety, social language, and self advocacy.
