Mobile OCR

I used this app to convert a photo of a recipe on a screen to text. Very impressive! OCR is generally full of garbled info, but this app still does a good job of capturing all of the right information, too. Just a but of text editing clean-up and voila! This app is actually a must-have.

I tried to convert some very clear Hebrew and Polish text. Both languages appear in the list but in Hebrew I got totally gibberish that did not contain even one Hebrew letter. In polish I got message like "we are good at it but this time we could not convert, try tips ..." Well, I tried a few times, vertically, horizontally, further, closer etc. I got the same message all the time. Useless for me. LG tablet.

Paid for unlimited scans, but app didn't update. Upgrade button comes back with "item already owned", restore purchases button says "purchase not found".. pretty frustrating.

I was impressed with the install size of this app, then I noticed why...the app uploads your image to a server to do all the work. Nowhere in the description does it mention that its sharing your file unencrypted with a server...boo hisss

Garbage in. Garbage out. Developer probably put this app together on a lunch break. Useless. Does not work at all. Takes forever to convert a file. Developer most have a very large extended family to get all the 5 star reviews. This app sucks, like most other Android apps.

This app works for everything I've tried to scan- mostly books, some product labels, etc. It only works online, though, and behaves very strangely and occasionally crashes when you try to use it offline. I get that the OCR takes a lot of ram, so it makes sense to pass it to a faster machine to do it, but the app description should say that it only works online, if an offline alternative isn't feasable.

Sadly I'll be uninstalling. I'd love to pay for a mobile ocr that works but after trying this with a few images in good light, my search continues.

I used the LG G2 camera to take a sharp and steady photo of size 11 text in Calibri font. It did not work. Try harder.

Works a screenshots, black on white or white on black. Saves me hours of hassle. My S4 is now a mobile office. It didn't appear to work 1st time on startup however that was an old version. Thank you developers.

Where can I complain about it?

Could not convert a pristine image of 14 chars... got 3 chars correct.

Sorcery. Pure & simple. I've taken a picture of a textbook, of a laptop screen, and of a multimedia PDF with accuracy close enough for horseshoes or hand grenades on android 4.1.2

Okay app, sometimes it translates gibberish but works most of the time. Wish it didn't have credits, people want ocrs for less stress, not having to buy another app.

3 attempts. Clear pics.. No results.

Seldom gets the text right. More often than not page full of useless characters. Sorry dislike the app.

Even the most clear photo not able to yield a single right character

I loved this app and purchased it. My money has been taken and I still only have 10 credits a day and it says payment failed but the money has been taken from my bank. Can someone help me please

Inconsistent. Sometimes near perfect scanning other times mere jibberish.

All I got was a few random characters. Also note there is a paid service for more than a few scans AND that this app sends all your scans to some server on the internet, soooo privacy and cell data issues if you're worried about that.

Recognising text quite accurately, however there are some problems with taking photos, sometimes photo needs to be taken 3 times before the app will get it.

This is the best Ocr text copying app on the market, but please stop asking for me to rate each time. Gosh! Also, it should tell you when you copy text to clipboard, because it doesn't say anything when you click the button even though it works. You don't know if it worked or not until you paste the text.

A very handy app but has errors when converting a image to text. It's 80 % accurate and the is no error correction teach-mode.

I screenshotted lyrics off a page and used the converter just to see how well it works. Everything was absolutely excellent. I love this app. The only downfall is it didn't find any text on one of my pictures where the text appeared over the actual picture. But overall a great app.

I've only just started using this app but I've already found it to be pretty good and very useful! Have had to play around with a few images to get text to extract, mostly when its white text on black background, but it was possible to change in the basic photo editing from my TF300T tablet. I used some screenshots that I took of my tablets system info, they are black background with white text and after some basic photo editing MOBILE OCR was able to convert to text so I could copy paste the text to a document Thankyou for this awesome app!

Seems like something got worse with the last update . Won't access camera consistently. When it works it's a cool app but a lot of times it just doesn't work. Translation is working every time and I'm using B/W setting on camera.

I am using this app for a test on an about 100 words page of "404" it turns out amazing, all the words except Firefox, which because of the dust on the screen itself, was incorrect. I do not expect it to translate a whole lot of 1000 words page from Britannica flawlessly, so this is as good as it gets and that is more than enough.

I have been using this app for a couple of days. It is not perfect, but gets my work done most of the times.I use a T- mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II. This works similiar to the new s-Note app on Galaxy Note 4. A tip for using this app is that pictures takes by the camera must be horizontal. Also, rather than using the Camera to directly take photos from the app, I will suggest to take photos from your mobile Camera app, & then use the 'Select photo' feature.

May be I expected too much from it. It has great accuracy. But the columns of text lost its formatting.

Does not even recognize QR codes. Useless trash.

it gave me an experience of back in the day with tutan karmoon with the hieroglyphic symbols it gave me. save your time and look elsewhere

100% accurate scanning a cash register receipt. Saved me 45 minutes of manual work. Sure, it's not nearly as powerful as desktop ocr but quite useful in the several times I used it.

Works well. You will get gobbledegook if you take image in portrait mode but works fine in landscape

Best to use good lighting if scanning straight from the camera. Otherwise - nonsense. Cannot work without an Internet connection.
