AutomateIt Hotspot Plugin

I wanted my S7 edge to start a hotpsot when it connected to my car's bluetooth, but it failed to operate. Uninstalled the plugin and the app in the hope of finding something that does what I need it to.

Won't work on Android 6.0.1.

Didnt work on Huawei P9+ Running Android 7.0 :(

This simply doesn't work. It doesn't appear on my action list and I can't use it. Galaxy Note 5.

It is not working

Simply turns off WiFi but does not turn on Hotspot. Then does not turn WiFi back on when set to toggle Hotspot off. Useless.. Found workaround with Automateit to run Portable WiFi Hotspot App.

Fails on new Galaxy S7. Useless.

Initiates but does not run, get error message. Says I need AutomatIt loaded, it is. Using AutomatIt Pro. Have reinstalled both the app and the plug-in, refreshed plug in and rebooted. ..nothing helped

Worked great on my Note 3, same settings on my S6 Active do nothing. Will not start the hotspot no matter what. I can manually start the hotspot through settings but of course that defeats the purpose of AutomateIt.

Does not work on Android Marshmallow 6.0 or 6.0.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I don't want to root my phone because of Android Pay, etc... Who is the DIMWIT at Google that decided to not allow the Hotspot feature to be programmable? When I get into my car I want my Android head unit's Bluetooth connection to enable my phone's hotspot. This isn't Automateit's fault, but it is still frustrating. Hate on Google/AT&T/Samsung for this encumbrance. "May a sick water buffalo fluctuate the temperature of (their) Jacuzzi" (quote from Johnny Carson as "Carnac the Magnificent!")

It's also killing my wi-fi when it shuts down. It used to do this on my older phone too, so it has little to do with my newer phone or Lollipop.

Tried rebooting phone, but the hotspot doesn't start or turn off.

Does not work with Note 5. Will not turn the hotspot on or off.

Disables WiFi but hot spot never statts. No errors or help.

Use to work, but either a phone update or app update means it no longer works on my Samsung note 4

I have been looking for any hotspot toggle that will work more than one time after a power cycle on the Galaxy S5. No luck here either.

For example when no WiFi devices connected? I can separate the two actions (reboot / hotspot off/on). Will I understanding Ruby help me? Thanks. On Samsung S4 jellybean non root.

4 stars because what I REALLY want is to automate my phones Bluetooth tethering function as well. App would be co pletely perfect if it added Bluetooth tethering on/off support.

I found out that this plugin has trouble turning Off the Wifi Tethering but that can be fixed by making a rule that turns airplane mode ON then OFF. All the phone's settings will come back to previously set, except for the Hotspot that will shut down.

On my S4 with stock ROM I find the tethering not very good. It will switch on but rarely switches off for some unknown reason?

It does what it's made for. Now I have it programmed for been triggered by an NFC tag
