SmartBlanket for Android
Always has accurate temperatures, and I'm never second guessing myself when it comes to blanketing.
The temperatures are not accurate. I added to horses in the same zip code and the temperatures where different. What? It also recommends a turnout sheet for a day when it is 36° but a medium turnout blanket when it is 46°?
Used to work great, but lately its not been very accurate. Doesn't give correct range of data, and if I we're to of relied on it for these winter weather storms that gave been happening my horses would not be very happy. So only 2 stars... please update your software
It's a mess day 54 turnout sheet fully clipped horse. Evening turnout sheet low 40s. Next day 50 Med weight blanket evening 32 turnout sheet. Keeps doing this all week. If I followed this my horse would be shivering.
Love love love this app. So helpful for figuring out what to do when and for which horse. Love it! The only thing that would make it better? Notifications as to when to change my horse's blanket. I always forget to check the app to see what I need to do.
It seems like it will be good for cooler weather, I would love a general barn/stable manager for feed turnout tasks etc, made by the same developer!
The app closes out every time I try to edit my horse's profile on the Galaxy S6. Otherwise great tool!
It really helps take the second guessing out when worried
The app is useless because the weather won't work so no suggestions are available.....
Fails to connect to the weather so sadly it doesn't work.
2014: If we were able to input our own preferences for temps and blankets and then the app used those to recommend. As is now it's not very useful for me. Great concept though! 2015 Update- deleted last year for issues with it not loading. Thought maybe it would be fixed this year. Nope. Took multiple tries to add horses. Now won't load the recommendations, just spins. Completely useless.
Blanketing recommendations are not consistent. Sometimes it recommends a sheet when it is in the 40's and then will recommend a medium blanket when it is in the 50's.
Love the app, but now its not updating to current temperatures. Please fix!
It gives you too many temperatures for the day and night and makes in confusing. It will want you to put a medium blanket on if its 50 degrees but then say no blanket needed for 34 degrees at night. I had the app last year but uninstalled due to too many clitches and it seems they are still there. If these would get fixed i think it would be a great app
Keeps crashing unfortunately. Closes itself without warning, especially when trying to edit a horse or make changes.
Update 10-22-15: Was able to add another horse but i still can't edit my first horse and takes forever to edit the second. If I try to change something, like my horses picture or even add a horse the app closes it's self. Like the app but would like to be able to use it without it closing.
This app is such a good idea and very accurate!

Horse blanketing
Barn
Can't gain access just to put my horses name fix and will get a higher rating
Don't live or die by the suggestions, but I love the reassurance!
I love this app it's helpful and is accurate!
There are still some cliches that still need to be fixed with the temperatures. When comparing with my weather, smartpak says the temperature is at least 10 degrees warmer then what it really is. One time when it says it's 32 degrees you need medium weight another time same temperature it will tell me a turnout sheet. At this point I can't trust it and haven't been using it. Now it is giving me no answer for the temperatures. Not sure why Smart Pak has yet to fix this issue
Love the concept but the recommendations are so far off it is totally useless. App tells me to use a medium weight turnout when daytime high is 58° but then a sheet when nighttime low is 33°.
Good idea, if a bit confusing. And does anyone know how to delete horses? I had a horse pass away, and now I'm too sad to use it.
This app would be great if the temperature was accurate. It usually thinks it's 10 degrees warmer than the actual temperature, and I have two other apps that give the correct weather, so it's not that I live in a weird location. Also, it has a high/low for the day, then a high/low for night which is confusing. Today it says the day low is 47 but the night low is 62. It was 47 this morning, and tonight's low will be 49, so I don't know what the 62 is about.

My horses moved and when I tried to change the location ib their settings the app kept forcing itself close
It's a great guideline but sometimes Smartpak's temps are off on the warmer side and I also think Smartpak is being a bit too conservative for fully clipped horses. I usually go a bit heavier than what they recommend
It says the same thing for all my horses from a little thin to a little fat. And it says to heavy weight+ half the time when it's nice here. If I followed the app my horses would have to winter fur left and would be blanketed all winter. Usually they have blankets for 10 days and that's it, but if I followed this they would have one all the time! My boys are out all the time and need their fluff!
Great app for up here in the Northwest
I answered all of the questions, but it says "NA" for the blanket type. When I click "help", it only offers that one screen about "tools", "horses", "swipe" and "scroll" which is no help at all.
It so helpful and easy for a green horn.
Love this app
I really love this app but it's not perfect for people that live in the middle of nowhere, the temps here are 15-20 degrees colder than what it says. I don't blame smartpak though all weather apps are like that for us. It would be great to be able to enter in our temps and weather conditions.
My boy is 28 years old and I'm super obsessed with his health and comfort. While I don't always agree with the recommendations, the app provides me some self-assurance that I'm doing right by my horse. Read other reviews that the app stopped working after a few days. So far, so good for me.
Love the app's design and premise. However, I can no longer edit my horse's info. and adjust it now that he is clipped (app crashes when I try to bring up the edit menu). So the app is pretty much useless to me now.
For the most part, this is a pretty cool app. But it is missing some important aspects... Weight of your horses coat for one. My mare doesn't grow much coat, but our gelding goes a heavy one. Also wind and if they have shelter while turned out. It would be great to see a couple added details. Thanks

Would love an app that also handles things like worming/shot/Farrier schedules too!
