'যে জলে আগুন জ্বলে'তে গ্রন্থিত হয়েছে ৫৬টি কবিতা।

ময়মনসিংহ থেকে ১৯৯০ সালে 'চিন্তা' লিটলম্যাগের হেলাল হাফিজ পুরনো কবিতার সঙ্গে প্রকাশ পেয়েছিল দুটি নতুন কবিতা- 'অচল প্রেমের পদ্য-১১' আর 'খাটো কবিতা'। পরবর্তীকালে 'খাটো কবিতা'র নাম বদলে রাখা হয়েছে 'রাখালের বাঁশি'।

১৯৯৪ সালে প্রকাশ পায় তার কার্ড কবিতা- 'ভালোবেসো একশ বছর' ও 'অচল প্রেমের পদ্য'। আরো একটি কার্ড কবিতা বেরিয়েছিল 'আজ কবিতার জনসভা' নামে। 'ভালোবেসো একশ বছর' ও 'আজ কবিতার জনসভা'য় নতুন কোনো কবিতা ছিল না। 'যে জলে আগুন জ্বলে'র কিছু কবিতা বাছাই করে এই দুটি কার্ড কবিতা প্রকাশ করা হয়েছিল। 'অচল প্রেমের পদ্য' কার্ডে ছিল ১০টি কবিতা- অচল প্রেমের পদ্য- ১, ২, ৩ এভাবে ১০ পর্যন্ত।

তাহলে তার প্রকাশিত মোট কবিতার সংখ্যা দাঁড়ালো ৫৬+১০+২+১= ৬৯টি। ৬৯ এর সঙ্গে আরো দুটি কবিতা যোগ করলে হয় ৭১টি কবিতা।

Helal Hafiz is a Bangladeshi poet. He is considered a true representative of poets of his generation having certain creative traits in an age when his nation and countries in the neighbourhood witnessed dramatic transitions particularly in the arena of politics. On completion of his schooling and college studies at his hometown in northern Netrokona, Hafiz got himself enrolled at the University of Dhaka, at a time when it appeared as main centre of the brewing nationalist movement which eventually saw the 1971 emergence of independent Bangladesh.
