VillageDefense - Crime Alerts

I don't want SMS or Phone Call notifications, I was quite happy to get app notifications. I've seen no non-emergency messages since the upgrade - I used to get several a week - so I'm wondering if my neighbors have all bailed. It feels very lonely now.

It used to work till they did their last big update. Completely useless since then.. Great concept but another company who obviously has terrible developers and zero quality control.

I loved the old version. The updated one will not work on my Note 4. There's no date stamp on the messages so I have no idea if it was today or last week. The messages appear in no certain order, one stamped at 4:20 am, the next at 3:00pm, next at 1:30 pm. I get alerts maybe 2 days later. Its crazy. I have deleted this app 4 times and reinstalled. I'm not messing with this anymore

This app is more trouble than it's worth,

I tried using Facebook to login and using my email to create an account. Error on both.

In use for our neighborhood. Creates awareness and an additional connection to our security support team.

Great app...we have 20 residents on now and hope to add more.

Village Defense is a much needed app for any neighborhood, conclave or "village" like a college campus. The way it operates is not perfect but it is pretty good. Needs a third chat room for non emergency, lower priority discussions. It would also be handy if the poster's home address was displayed with the message. Add a button to call security, one for police and one for fire and you've got a handier app. However, I encourage you to try it.

This app is great from navigating to tech. support. I look forward to a long partnership with this group.

I email to get a Village ID & have not gotten a response yet. I cannot register without a village ID

Haven't received any live chat updates since I updated to 2.0. Previous version worked much better.

Requires access to device app history, media and other permissions that don't make sense to me for the features it offers. App developers, pls review the user-permission.

I live in a very rough neighborhood listed in the top 5 of worst cities in America. The fact that your application actually wants you to be recognized by neighbors equals anyone who has set the same area in your application to be notified is dangerous! I was interested because of the area being rough, but to be identified as a witness is equivalent to being a snitch. Snitches here don't live to get stitches, the rule is they end up in ditches. Anonymous option is safer for the user.

We are all sharing screenshots of our maps and we all show different people. I have 1 person, when clearly dozens are on. My next door neighbor can't see me but shows others. It's annoying. I'd also rather have push notifications. I never once got a text.

Worked great until recent update, now it's useless, even the link on the help page is broke

The best thing about this app is that it becomes much more effective as more and more people adopt.

Even though I entered the one time password immediately after receiving it, I was still prompted with an invalid error; in addition to first encountering the difficulties highlighted below by Bill. I am also unclear of the details.. ..when I see that it will no longer be free if I do not get 14 of my neighbors to join!?!

Had trouble at first signing in ( make sure there are no spaces after you input your email after registration). Wrote an email and got fast reply and all issues got fixed. Very impressed with the service.

Can anyone tell me how do u find what you ID is for your area??

Registration is not easy. Then never received one time email code!

It only goes so far and then it stops

When I try to sign in, a screen flashes for 1/2 second. Something about sending me a code and asking me to enter it on the screen that quickly disappears. Clearly not ready for prime time. Galaxy S5
