Very nice app! Love the variety within the genre. My favorites even keep me exploring new music! Very kick ass! The ads aren't bad, still better than FM radio. The cool thing is that if you listen to a song and you don't like it you can suffer thru it and there is a window you can pull out that says the list of the last songs you've played while on they station. You can cross that song out and it doesn't go against your 6 skips. I really enjoy this app! Update: this service kicks ass! I pay 5.00 bucks a month to get rid of the commercials. I've deleted I heart radio and this is my only streaming service. Slacker rules! Anything you want to listen to! I won't go anywhere else.

I love slacker and use it on all sorts of platform's. Can no longer download stations for offline play on the $3.99 plan, must now be on the $9.99 plan. Most have limited data plans in Canada which will result in them cancelling their membership. Not sure if I will continue using due to needing offline play when flying.

Y70%
by Y####:

More of a support request than review....for the past month songs will randomly stop playing mid-song like I had tapped pause. I'll have to hit play again. Sometimes it happens multiple times per song. It's gotten to the point now where I don't even want to use Slacker until the issue is fixed.

Love the apps and having my own playlist for country that I made. I mean yeah $9.99 is a little much to have unlimited skips and to be able to make your own playlist. Could be a few dollars cheaper. And instead of having the timers up to 60 minutes before the music stops playing if it is set. The app needs to have a custom timer to where you can set it for as long as you want to

I love Slacker! The music selection is huge. If you get premium you can create and save playlists of your own. Cusomize stations. You can download your playlists while on Wi-Fi and then listen to them offline. I no longer need Spotify. I don't use any other music streaming app. Slacker is definitely a great app. And the Hosts they have on there, namely Red, Parker, and Raymond T, are great Hosts, they are laid back, fun facts, and too freakin funny sometimes! I highly recommend Slacker to anyone look for a user friendly music app with great music selection! And premium is worth it!! ;)

Very disappointed you can no longer listen to offline content with the Plus $3.99/mth account. Offline content was the best feature and only reason i paid for am account. I used it when we were sailing and camping and generally out of range for service. We are currently being hit by a bad winter storm and all power plus our internet is out and, because of these unannounced changes, are sitting in silence. I am canceling my paid account. Very unimpressed.

Hey man I'm I have the free edition and I couldn't be happier. It seems like you guys were cruising through my high school and young adult life with me. Are you sure this isn't one of my lifelong friends jamming out with me every day. Whatever it is just keep it up and you have a lifelong listener and friend. Thank you Thank you Thank you

Been paying 3.99 for years for offline content. With no warning, offline was removed from 3.99 and only offered to premium customers. No grandfathering, no warning, no explanation. It just was included one day, and not the next. Low life move slacker. That's an unethical bait and switch. You should have honored the original deal at least until the end of the cycle!

by Y####:

I don't know how you can't love this app unless you don't love music of course. Better than any other music streaming app out there. In my opinion of course. You can actually choose the specific song and not wait 5 songs before it plays. Or you can play the entire album from front to back if that's what you would prefer. Pay 10 bucks for even better benefits like listening offline, making playlists and even creating your own station. This app is wonderful. Keep up the good work! I've been using this app for years.

For some reason I was kicked out an asked to login this morning. After logging in, I realized my playlists are gone! At first I thought I needed to subscribe to Slacker Premium again but when I tried I got a message saying I'm already subscribed. I've tried everything I can think of but my playlists are gone. All that music!!! So now I suppose I'm wondering.. since I can't use premium for some reason or another, will I still be charged? Like, even tho I can't use it??? I just want my playlists back! Can you fix this or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Y70%
by Y####:

I haven't used slacker for about a year due to the horrible update back then. I have given them another try and resigned up for the premium service. So far I am very happy with it. My Playlist was still active so I didn't have to rebuild it. A great improvement! IT'S STILL THE BEST!! I USE IT EVERY DAY!!

Been using slacker for years, hasn't failed me yet. Offline radio feature is my favorite, download playlists while on Wi-Fi and listen when you have no reception! They dropped my favorite feature on slacker plus, I dropped my slacker plus. Amazon Music is included with my Prime, switch has been made... Bad call slacker, I don't recall getting a notification, just found out at work, bad start to the new year.. ????

Y70%
by Y####:

Long time subscriber, but going to look elsewhere since offline playback was removed for paying customers. Slacker, you really really need to actually listen to the feedback from your customers... shame on you! I've even attempted to contact Slacker, who won't respond back to my emails... unbelievable how you treat a customer who has had your radio service since 2008!!!

I like this app a lot! The only reason I don't like it is because it keeps pausing songs on its own. It has paused a song 3 times on me before. It's been updated and I've turned my phone off and on to see if that stops it. Not sure what it's doing!!

Back to Pandora! I paid for unlimited skips and downloadable stations and was NOT notified that they were going to make any changes. I downgraded back to free radio once I couldn't listen to my downloaded stations and now if I'm driving and an ad comes up I'll have to pull over or something so I can click the super tiny X in the corner so it will start playing music again. I feel like if I am PAYING for something I deserve to know if what I'm paying for is going to change. Another fun thing is with the limited skips when I try to make a song never play again it will also skip the next song so I'm out another skip because it felt like it.

J70%
by J####:

Great selection of music that I like. Some really rare stuff. For instance, I'm a big Rush fan. They have some really good live albums on this service. My only quibble is that Slacker displays all of the albums by certain artists, but are not available for streaming. Why tease is?

Y70%
by Y####:

I got the plus upgrade and it is excellent. I love being able to make custom playlists and play them fully offline. Not a bad deal for no commercials and unlimited skips. Also just like to say, the plus upgrade has NOTHING but music. No commercials, no DJ if you don't want him, just music. Keep it up Slacker Radio.

Y70%
by Y####:

Best radio app, I have a couple of go to stations that are perfect for me. I have discovered so much music that I would never have known listening to traditional radio. I don't mind the ads but only because I find them not overly intrusive. I also like having my music catered to me on their highly customized stations.

R70%
by R####:

My favorite feature is the offline listening. The only down side is the 3.99 per month. I enjoy slacker (djs, mixes, volume, and stations) and the offline listening so much that I don't mind paying it. (Update as of 2018 now the only offline listening is for premium members and cost $9.99 USD. What the hell slacker. That's why I dropped my rating from 5* to 4*. Bogus)

J70%
by J####:

Same as all the other reviews. No notice move of offline playing to "premium". Ridiculous, not even an error in the app, just says please refresh. Bad move. Way to ruin my favorite music app. Guess I'll just have to find something new as well. Well my 3.99 subscription ran out. Officially uninstalled the app entirely. Shady bait and switch. Will be spending my money elsewhere.

Y70%
by Y####:

Just cancelled my $4/month subscription and now uninstalling the app because they took away offline playback and now only offer it on the $10 plan. Get real Slacker, that's what I pay for Netflix, you think you offer what Netflix does? You can download several movies to play offline now ya know...

Y70%
by Y####:

Worked fine at first, I actually considered buying it. I was kinda poor at the time so I waited. Not long after the free trial ended the problems started. Randomly stopping mid song every other song, occasionally deleting my artists list, stuff like that. I'll just go back to Pandora or try another system. If your going to do stuff like this why allow ppl to listen free at all? Just ignorant games being played in my opinion.

Y70%
by Y####:

I love this app I used to have it rated 5 stars. I have had the plus subscription for at least 6 years because it let me download the station so I can listen to the music while skiing or camping in areas without data. Recently they changed it to a premium subscription plan. Not happy with the move cause I'll have to pay $10.00 instead of $4.00 a month if I decide to do it. I'll probably switch apps now! Thanks alot slacker ????

V70%

This app used to be wonderful, you could download stations and such with a $4 plan. Now they took that option and left it for the $10 so it's $4 now is just a paid version of what Spotify offers for free. Good job on loosing a long term customer slacker, poor shame it had to end this way.

I used to love slacker and touted it over all other services. On a trip this weekend, I tried to play my cached stations in a dead zone along the interstate only to find out I needed to upgrade from my already paid subscription. I got no warning that the tier I paid for would be losing this feature after I have used it for years. I emailed support and they have ignored me. I will be cancelling my subscription and removing the app from all of my devices. What a shame!

R70%
by R####:

It took me a half hour of research to figure out why offline play stopped working. Had to find out in a bunch of play store reviews that they moved that to the top tier with no warning! I've had a slacker account since they started and this is the last straw.

Y70%
by Y####:

I'm on the slacker plus plan. I've happily downloaded music for off line for a long time. Without notifying me, I can no longer download without updating to premium. What am I getting for $3.99 a month now? Going to cancel unless slacker can give me a good answer about what I am paying for.

Y70%
by Y####:

Before slacker changed the subscription types I would have given a higher rating. Variety was not super, but ok. The only reason I subscribed was for the ability to download music for the day, as I cannot stream at my workplace. It is not worth the increase in price. I have unsubscribed and uninstalled.

Y70%
by Y####:

I have been paying the $3.99 monthly fee for off line music since reception is terrible in my area. I go to use the app and find out my lists are locked and it's telling me to upgrade for even more money to keep what I have been using all along. No warning, no grandfathering, nothing. Highly unethical business practice. I've tried to give them a chance to fix it by emailing customer support but no response going on 5 days now. Really would avoid this app if this is how they treat their customers.

Y70%
by Y####:

So I've had this app for awhile. It came with my phone. And man I use it ALL the time. It's not some crappy station with poor audio. It has a variety meaning there is a station that you are for sure to love. And after using it for awhile, it gave me a free trail for 2 weeks. I might actually end up getting the full version!

Y70%
by Y####:

Very bad app. Music will just freeze up, stations will stop playing with a message "cant play due to licensing restrictions", and all around techsupport is useless. Id recommend any app but this. Absolutely aweful

Y70%

I've been a slacker member for over 7 years, now we can't download and play music offline which is the primary way I listened. No way I will be paying 4 times more a month. You lost a dedicated customer!!

Y70%
by Y####:

Have been paying for the last 2 years for the PLUS radio and was able to download offline content and enjoy slacker radio. Now I'm being asked to upgrade to PREMIUM to get my features back.. I can no longer enjoy slacker in my car because I have little data on my phone and am being expected to upgrade and pay 5 more dollars to get the same as what I already have, sorry had

App no longer opens on my phone. I'm paying for this so it should work. Please make necessary changes to the Note 4 app. Updated So after repeated uninstalls and reinstalls the app was working again. Then no offline mode. Like really are you kidding me. I stuck with you guys even when I found you didn't have license for a lot of artist I love. I never purchased membership with googleplay or Pandora and how do you thank loyal customers with a stiff one. Who is really benefitting from your price hike because its surely not the customers. So as of today you've lost another customer due to bad business practice. Thanks for telling there's a price hike but no incentives. This is why people pirate music.

Y70%
by Y####:

I use multiple services, and slacker is was favorite, until offline playback was cut off! I could see 9.99 family plan, but not for a single membership. Premium is not worth more than 5.99 at most. Get your act together Slacker! Other then that, the 3.99 is great and I get the benefits of radio mixed with whatever artists I like etc. Fine tuning options, and excellent quality overall. I wish there was a family plan option or ability to upload your own music to add to a custom playlist/station. The variety is much better, with less work compared to other music services, plus real DJs, news & sports updates if you want them. Slacker is the most under rated service out there. I hope they will expand the product and it's offerings.

I've loved Slacker from the first time a coworker introduced me to it ~6 years ago... Haven't used another internet radio station/app since. My music tastes are pretty diverse and Slacker has it all.

W70%
by W####:

In a world where the customer experience is at the forefront of growing a business, I feel that Slacker has missed it's opportunity to lead by example. While I don't like the change to the Plus membership, at least I could understand if I'd simply been told of the significant alteration that is no longer having the ability to play music offline. Instead, I see that the mindset seems to be "how can we make them pay more". I will definitely be looking for another primary music player. I have been a paying Slacker customer for a very long time, and to make significant changes without warning is cowardly and unacceptable.

Y70%
by Y####:

Previous rating a 5, but with stunts like this you deserve to go out of business. Found out on a flight today that my cached stations I was paying for are no more. Thanks for the warning (not)! Result: I'm heading overseas with no music on my device; I trusted you and you failed me critically. Could you have at least sent out an e-mail a few days beforehand? Goodbye. I'll never be back.

Y70%
by Y####:

I've been a slacker member for years and now i can't listen to music offline on the $3.99 plan! Paying more than double for the premium membership just to get offline listening...I don't think so! Bad move Slacker!

Y70%
by Y####:

Slacker has been my go to app as the offline feature works great when out of cell phone range and you could still expand your library with new stuff. They have changed the pay structure and it is definitely not worth 9.99 a month deployed or not. I'll start buying the new stuff and give my money to someone else. Slacker just lost a 7 year long paying customer and probably many more as I can no longer recommend it to my fellow deployable Co workers.
