Veho Kasa for Android
Updated the app, since update and multiple attempts of restarting my phone and even switching to a new phone and repeating the process, the issue still remains. I cannot connect to my bulbs - stops at 49% and cant update - keep getting error -2. This product is absolutely worthless as it doesn't even work like it is supposed to. After trying to upgrade and update, I have given up. With no acknowledgement or help from Veho, I have made up my mind and will be telling my friends and family not to purchase this or any Veho/Kasa products.
This was a great app till the new update. I've uninstalled and reinstalled rebooted but it will only get to 49% the request to upgrade always fails to with a -2 error.
After my phone updated, this app will no longer connect to my bulb. It gets stuck at 49% then fails. I've tried switching it off then on, but nothing worked. EDIT: after the new update, the bulb won't update. I've reset it multiple times and nothing happens. I press the help button and its all in Chinese. Error code -2.
The app works fine but the hardware is mediocre for the price, settings aren't saved so you always have to have your phone available to switch it on. Maybe when Google home is available it will be less frustrating
Rendered completely useless after update. My only upside was i only bought one of these c**p bulbs but still goes down as my stupidist purchase.
Works fine with android 6 but will no longer connect with my 1+3 on android 7. Updated app has now fixed this problem.
Stopped working with Moto G4 after Nougat update. As per other comments, gets stuck at 49% when connecting
Got it to work on Oneplus after previous issues not pairing and getting stuck at 49%. Had to use Samsung S7 instead to upgrade bulb firmware via app, now my Oneplus can finally connect.
Works ok with my Expedia now but not one plus one. Also with tablet hudl2. Permissions for an app to just control a light are ridiculous. Glad these are reduced
Works great after fix. Thanks. But I needed to update my bulbs firmware from another phone. Anyway now it works. But the user interface could be better
Can't find my bulbs. Spent 2 hours troubleshooting on changing Wi-Fi from 5 to 2.4 and trying on an old tablet. This it was my android version cause works now with the update. Still has to find the bulbs each time I open it for some reason which takes a minute.
Couldn't find my bulb. Also terrible grammar in the little information given in errors and warnings. Very poor user interface also.
I can no longer connect to the bulbs. My purchase has been rendered useless.
Works great. App is easy to connect, lighting changes are quick and easy to make. I need more of these bulbs. Cool product and app
Brought light bulb app keeps coming up with errors please fix it
Literally the only thing for my bulbs and I can prank poeple
Can't even find my bulb... Not impressed
Great app and great bulbs would be great if it would work with Amazon Alexa ?
It's not connecting to my bulb when i updated it
Does not seem to find my bulb
only 1 strip works don't but this bullshit
I love it
Good bulbs BUT colours not as warm as Lifx. Bluetooth range could be better, can struggle to find buld upstairs when downstairs. If these two niggles sorted with an update… 5 Star. *UPDATE* … After only two days app will no longer connect to the bulb rendering it useless, hence revision down to 1 star.
Awesome app. Read other reviews, don't know what the complaint is about. I have multiple bulbs in 1 room and can control them separately or together. The moods are nice if you want to set a different light to a bulb. Great app. NEEDS A WIDGET. Add WIDGET = 5 stars
Randomly finds each bulb on my Galaxy S7. Almost unusable as the bulbs appear and disappear on the list as and when they want. Nothing works on the schedule or timer. Really disappointed. Spent a fortune on bulbs as I assumed the product would be half decent. Buyer beware. Gets two stars as it seems to be ok with just one bulb.
Was gifted 2 of the Veho bulbs for Christmas. Unfortunately the app can't make its mind up which bulb is connected.. I have 2 set up both within operating range and each time I open the app it randomly connects to one and I'm unable to operate the second - Effectively making one bulb and indeed the grouping feature of this app completely useless! I'm now reduced to using one bulb only and the prospect of me buying anymore (while this is an issue) has quickly gone from a definite yes to a resounding no.
Pretty awesome. I am requesting from the developers a way to add possibility to configure it as a stroboscope. Also why don't they have built in memory? When you turn the power off they lose the memory of last color.
Worked great, nice colours, easy to set up. But now have 2 device's upgraded to Android 7.0 and cannot connect. Connection gets to 49% every time and crashes.
If you want an LED light source that can be set to different colors, this is a great app. You set and forget. However, if you want any sort of control, timing or anything like that, this app leaves a lot to be desired. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the lightbulb brighten for a Dawn simulator alarm clock. I may have to give it up as a dead loss and go buy a more expensive bulb to get the app functionality I need
Why does this app need to access my call log? These permissions are insane. Got 2 bulbs, neither would connect with my Nexus 6 no matter what. Error messages are in badly broken English and unhelpful. Feedback page on website doesn't even have the bulbs as an option to contact them about. Used iPhone 4 and it was able to upgrade the bulbs firmware. One bulb works but still only with iPhone. The other bulb promptly shut off and refuses to turn back on. Waste of money
Really wish you would change the app. Hard to: connect, rename bulbs for rooms, and use on multiple phones. Have them in kids rooms and it is about impossible for them to connect with their phones and delete different bulbs forever. They can connect to each other which will definitely cause problems :). Love the bulbs though!!!!
To All, I recently emailed the Veho customer support team regarding the incompatibility issue with Android once it updates to 7 (specifically, but not limited to One Plus) as I could see on here that I wasn't the only one having this problem. After a lot of "try reinstalling the app" etc, I finally got the following response; "We have spoken to the R&D team and told that the Android app is being worked on but unfortunately will not be available in the very near future. If you are unable to use your bulb due to this, please return the bulb to your reseller. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused" I have since successfully returned the bulb to my retailer as "faulty", and they are considering pulling the product from the shelves as a result. Shame, the bulb WAS great.
It's working pretty flawlessly. I had a couple of times when it would not connect but generally it loads after a couple of seconds. Can you make some widgets? Like on/off, dimmer widget, timer widget, etc... Like Xiomi has for it's lights. Check their free app for tips.
I have to constantly add bulbs in order to control them. The app "forgets" bulbs that were previously added to a group. Widgets would be a definite plus, but seeing as the developers don't even respond to emails (unless it's for sales) or reviews, I have very low hopes that the app will see any improvements. I'll update this if Veho does what any developer worth its salt should. C'mon Veho! Get it together!
Of all the bluetooth lights this one has the fewest app features. It has an alarm feature with fade on. Otherwise it's just on/off and one color at a time. There is no timed color transition feature as there are with other lights. No widget for home screen on/off. The app is really the only bad thing about the product.
I'm two weeks into owning the product and I'm enjoying it so far, for £20 it's good value, despite possibly being a bit dimmer than the more expensive bulbs like the Hue. I couldn't give five stars because of the lack of widgets and a slightly clunky UI, to fix this either slim down the UI so it's quicker to access the dimmer and colour controls, or add a large resizeable widgets for the more useful UI pages like the dimmer or timer, make it so as you make the widget bigger more functions could display be displayed, Eg a 3x3 widget could show the tone wheel, also add a brightness option built into the wheel so as you swipe towards or away from the center while selecting the colour it also controls the brightness, and a 3x4 widget could show the tone wheel and a timer or another function. Maybe add fine colour selection or the ability to set it to cycle through selected colors smoothly. The physical product seems to be solid and well made, however it loses a star for the app, implement the suggested feedback and fix some operating system issues, then your reviews will reflect the quality of the product. Don't neglect the software. Edit: I'm only using a single bulb over Bluetooth, some people have found issues when you try to connect multiple bulbs.
The bulbs are very good connected straight away with my galaxy s7. Would be even better if you could make them colour change like other products on the market.
(Update) I tried it on an older phone and it worker perfectly (Droid DNA) I think it just needs to be updated so newer phones can work as well. scanned for 2 seconds then started "adding". I left the app to "add" for about an hour and it still couldn't finish "adding". So I closed out of it and tried again but this time it just said it couldn't find any hardware
Will only recognize one bulb. ...piece of junk

Great bulb. App always has difficulty connecting. Scans to 19% and reloads. Then eventually finds nothing. I end up reloading the app many times to connect. I would also like to be able to set a timer to change between a few tones over a time period example blue fading to green fading to red then back to blue over a set time. Is this achievable?
