Wisconsin Public Radio App for Android
I've listened to public radio all over this country and WI has the BEST public programming hands down. I moved to Maine a couple years ago and the programming and personalities there do not hold a candle to those in WI. This app keeps me connected and enjoying all my favorite programs and people and guests. Not a problem with the app at all and I'm running lollipop on a Samsung Galaxy s5. Thank you for making it available at a great price.
It crashes within 10-15 minutes after tuning in. I would like to listen to locally produced programming. For other public radio programs I listen through the NPR and WBUR apps.
I love WPR. I start my day out with it, I listen to stories on my lunch, I finish up my drive home with WPR. I really want to love this app but it's difficult. It closes at weird unexpected times. Its not closing at proper times. For example, when I open WPR and lock my phone, the app closes. I have to go back into my phone and back into the app, ugh. It's just annoying. When I have the app going and go into Facebook, start a video, WPR Still plays! I have more to say by I can't.
Nice app. The minimal interface and instant access to all my favorite WPR shows is really nice. There's an odd bug while listening to on demand shows, though... sometimes, somewhat often, a few seconds of audio will randomly repeat in the middle of a show. I hope that gets fixed, otherwise I like the app quite a bit and use it daily.
Works for about ten seconds and then cuts out with a "no signal" error, even with full bars on both mobile and wifi.
Stops after 5 minutes constantly have to restart no good
As I am listening through this app and also through my laptop on the Listen Live page they aren't even talking about the same things!
Nonbiased news, awesome music and amazing stories :)
Awesome app. The on demand feature is great.

This is a great app, which does exactly what it should, and does it well. However, it could greatly use support for Chromecast so that I can stream and listen to my favorite shows in my bedroom or living room and not be limited to my phone. The NPR One app features Chromecast support, and I'm sure the NPR One app's Developers would be happy to assist the WPR app developers in implementing Chromecast support. That is the only needed change in your app. However 2: The Rehowevering: Android 5.0 and it's uniform material design is coming out in three weeks, and the app could really use a UI refresh.
First off, I love WPR and listen daily. As I don't live in WI, it helps me listen when I want. The on demand feature makes it easy to listen to archive archived shows. All that being said, there are problems with this app since I upgraded th OS of my Samsung s5 phone to lollipop. When I'm listening to a show using the app, it intermittently and sporadically switches the channel from The Ideas Network to one of the other channels. This never happened before lollipop.

The lay out of the app is very easy to navigate and to understand, switching between any of the three radio stations is simple and easy to navigate. The app frequently crashes and has to reconnect in the middle of listening. This happens even on stable wifi and data connections. This is very frustrating when listening to a podcast because it is quite difficult to go back and find the exact spot I left off. Fast forwarding in the podcast is has many glitches.
Hopefully with they can modernize this app a bit...slow, clunky, unintuitive, and looks like it belongs to the first Android device ever
(S5) UNSTABLE app (on Galaxy S3, S4 AND now S5) STILL crashes regularly on data AND on WiFi if you're doing anything at all with your phone other than listening only. Count yourself among the blessed if you ever get to listen to a full program without a crash - and the on-demand NEVER allows you to finish a show (OTR particularly -- good luck finding where it quit!). Why even offer it if you can't fix it over a year later? Use TuneIn radio and skip WPR app until it's fixed.
I love and support WPR and I appreciate every minute of news or intellectual stimulation I get from this station. That said, I find that the app takes some time to buffer which is understandable. I don't expect to be able to use this app and run 50 other background processes on my device that require bandwidth. So disregard that other review. If there were more streamlined alarm clock functions, it'd be perfect, heck, I wish my phone gave me the option to do that!
Got a new phone, Galaxy S6, and new carrier, Verizon. Now the app keeps bouncing around during a podcast and sometimes crashes. Love this app. I can listen whenever I get time.
App is broken, loads/stops. Nexus 7 2013. Will upgrade rating when app functions. In the mean time Ill keep using Tunein. If your unwilling or unable to fix it, pull it. Save folks the time/trouble. Love WPR......listening to it right now on Tunein. For on demand get the podcasts off of Stitcher
My favorite is Science Friday.
I love being able to take WPR with me!
I love pbs and everything it stands for!
The best of public radio!
This app used to work fine. Now though it constantly drops the stream. Switched to the npr app and picked the wern stream.
Solid app with all archived content
Work on my zte go phone lollypop 5.1
Haven't really had a problem

Favorite!
I love and support WPR, but this half-baked app (on both Galaxy S3, S4 AND S5) STILL stops regularly, keeps turning on my WiFi (STOP IT!) to look for network and then shows "no network connection" - if I want to connect via WiFi I'll turn it on myself. Or it just shifts to pause, and constantly pauses to rebuffer. Stick with the TuneIn Radio app - which also nicely provides a long buffer should you pause the program and play later. PLEASE FIX!

But I listen periodically all day long lots of good topics. Keep up the good work..
On demand listening is where it's at!

The programs are five stars but the app often will not open saying wpr has stopped. I use lollipop.

This is my most used app on my 5 year old Asus Transformer TF300 tablet, Samsung Tab A tablet, Samsung Galaxy S2 phone, and Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. However, it will not install on my newest tablet - Nextbook Ares 11A running Lollipop. Can someone help with this? I am a long time listener and financial supporter of WPR.
