WOSU Public Media App for Android
On demand NPR is amazing. However, as other reviewers have stated, there are random drops and it is difficult to fully close.
The WOSU listen live ap works well enough that use it occasionally. I usually listen on the radio or from my desk top. It typically works reliably with no problems.
Cuts out a LOT.
I love that I can listen to my favorite station all day and anywhere with this app!
Hard to close this app.
It is sometimes slow to load, occasionally crashes, and hiccups (stream drops for seconds at a time) quite a bit with some devices. So no the greatest app. But it's NPR wherever and whenever I want, so that's awesome.
It's good when I don't have a radio. Only 4 stars because it is difficult to fully close. I need to turn off my phone to get the icon out of my top bar.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because it crashes quite a bit if it is not playing but sitting in recent apps. That however is only when re-opening and while playing content.
Love this app but it does cut out here and there. Doesn't change that I'm thankful for the access!
The connection to WOSU is dropped when my phone goes asleep. This is a new occurrence.
Decent app but the live streaming feature does work great. Lots of buffering silence.
I would actually really enjoy this app, but it keeps quitting when I play the on demand content
There have been some great improvements made to this site that has made it much more enjoyable.
Not a 5 because it crashes too many times when I'm using it.
Works well.
Very quick to load. Very clear sound.
WOSU always has 5 star coverage, but I would put this app at 2 stars. It literally has one job, but listening to wosu through the app is often tempermental and will quit streaming when the screen times out, locks, or you switch apps. This is on a galaxy S6, so it's not an issue with they phone's hardware. Hopefully this is addressed in a future update.
Not possible to listen to the live stream uninterrupted for more than a few minutes without it stopping to buffer. Sometimes it just stops all together and I have to restart app. Regardless, it doesn't pick up where it left off so I'll miss half the story.
I send at least three crash reports to them a day. I've been using this app for years with no improvement. I primarily use the "On Demand" feature. It constantly gets hung up when I leave it playing and switch apps, then open the app again. Frequently stops playing for no reason. Cannot pause the app using media buttons (literally every other audio app I have does this). Does not pause for other audio (text message, alert, Google maps navigation, etc. - another feature which every other audio app can do).
I can take NPR everywhere there's cell service. What's not to love?
If you ride a bus into work instead of take a car this app is useful to listen to NPR.
drops signal frequently, so I use it via radio app, without problems
Enjoy listening to WOSU, especially in the morning while getting ready to "face the day."
I come to the app often. It's quite
I really like this app. The sleep option is nice. I Don't like that it crashes.
This is a great way to listen to WOSU on the go, or at work.
Great Coverage and access to public access radio and television
Especially the on demand feature.
Solid app, I use other podcast apps more but we'll see if that changes
The app lets me listen anywhere you have decent Wi-Fi
This app is now even more awesome and I loved it before!
constantly crashes on android
With the NPR One app out now, I use this app less. It's really not up to date, and it has so many issues. It does work, but I recommend the NPR One app instead.
The graphical interface, sound quality, and loading speed are all commendable for the WOSU app. NPR and PBS content enhance the app as well. However, I still would like to see a deeper archive of local news stories. The app only holds fifteen local headlines which is a short list. A deeper archive would be appreciated for those of us who only check the app every few days.
One irritation I have with this program is that it takes some effort to get it really closed. The new version, for me, works the same as the older version.
Issues of the day are well passed to the public, and this makes it unique even though, there is room for improvement
Great way to catch up on news when not listening to NPR.
I love listening to NPR wherever I go.
Works well.

Like everyone says, it has LOTs of time gaps in playing. Love the access but not all that fond of the app.
