WFAE Public Radio App for Android
Great for those times when you're not in range of the radio signal. Also, for catching up on missed episodes.
Last update broke the app. Will not recognize any network
Gives great live news feed and on demand programming, but sometimes I find occasional hiccups with the app and audio.
Nice to have a way to tune into my local NPR station from anywhere.
Great place to get news and fun talk radio!
Good app, I use it throughout my day. My biggest complaint is the Android version does not pause when you accept a phone call but the apple version does.
Better than OK and would be 4 stars except that app will randomly start streaming when paused right in the middle of meetings etc. Only solution seems to be to 'stop' app.
Don't have to browse to player stream and stream starts automatically. get news links as well. Just what you need
Crashes a lot. Can't pause with earbud controls.
Love the ability to listen to programs that I couldn't hear live.
WFAE is a great station, and the app works well.
Great way to get my news.
Like radio
Love it, easy to use.
Makes WFAE portable.
Great app
Awesome
I was able to listen to the Charlotte talks podcast but it doesn't close. Stays in the system tray opened which results in a constant notification. That's frustrating
Crashes often. Cannot close app without going to phone settings to force stop. Good variety of programs.
Doesn't always close but great otherwise.
Very convenient while traveling to keep up with favorite programs. Does time out during playback.
One of the most ingenious ways I get my news. I use it almost every day!
Needs a better way to exit the app than going back to app home screen
Love listening to WFAE when I travel for business.
Great source of news!
I use it everyday and enjoy it immensely. However, it crashes often if I am using other apps. Although it only requires restarting the app itself, this is somewhat annoying. Nevertheless, I like using it.
App crashes on launch after donation request plays. Resets and reinstallation do not help. Atleast the old version would play for an hour before it completely drained your battery.
It's difficult to stop the broadcast. Otherwise, it's a great way to listen to WFAE when you are on the go.
App crashes and stops a lot. I use it every day and it's a constant occurrence. Very frustrating.
No matter where I am in the country,I can always hear WFAE;It gives me that feeling of hearing public radio in Charlotte.
App pauses too much. How can this be fixed???
I use it every day on morning walks and during exercise.
The app is great, I am only interested in news and here I got a ton
I just love WFAE and this always works well.
Great way to listen to a great station.
Great show.
The application is much better than prior versions which crashed regularly. Access to all hd channels is nice. It should be easier to quit from within the app and the navigation bar. Downsides are short. The main issue I've noticed is it doesn't play nice with other audio apps. It continues playing over Google Music as an example. It should stop playback in such cases.
On occasion (not frequently), turning it off and closing the app in device manager doesn't stop it playing. Required either force stop from settings, or (what I usually do) just restart phone. Otherwise a great app, much improved & all around appreciated.
Huge public radio support or and greatly appreciate this venue to have access anywhere I go. My only issue is when my phone goes to sleep the app turns off.

None of the NPR apps of this type work on my phone anymore. WFAE or WVXU. They do the same thing: say there is no connection even though every other app works fine. I just factory reset my phone too.
