NHPR Radio for Android
Latest version requires login. The option to skip is fine, but I don't want to every time I launch the app. Would have stayed on the previous version had I know.
The audio times out often.
Would like a local station app to wok. But it buffers all the time. So I am trying this.
Good enough to listen live streamed from my phone, so....does what it is supposed to.
I love NHPR but this app often curs out or skips ahead
Nhpr it's awesome. App does it's job!!!
Good app.
Works fine
I love NHPR; I've been a sustainer for a long time. But it's hard to imagine they could have chosen a less stable streaming platform. It crashes ALL the time. Galaxy S7. On WiFi, LTE, doesn't matter. Crash. Crashed twice while typing this.
You get about 5 minutes of stream and it crashes.my phone, having to restart everything. Broken app. Shame. I love listening
I've used other public radio apps and they regularly drop or quit. I don't generally have a problem getting a consistent stream from this app unless I'm switching to or from Wi-Fi(in which case programming restarts). I like that there is additional content available for streaming. Don't forget to support Public Radio! :)
Though it hasn't crashed in a while, I do have to close two instances of the app when exiting. I.E., press back again to exit the press it twice more to REALLY exit
Love NHPR, but the app crashes a lot.
Can't shut it off and it repeats the last 25 seconds all the time.
All of the great content, simple menu
Won't load,
The most annoying thing about this app is whenever it gets disconnected from a wifi access point it will replay the sponsor ad, even if i just heard it 30 sec ago. This is super annoying when walking around campus were there can be several AP in the same building.
The UI is okay, its a little busy for my liking. My issue is on demand streaming regularly crashes both on and off bluetooth. Also bluetooth has difficultly pausing and reconnecting when the car is disconnected briefly. Also it crashes all the time which is infuriating when I'm driving (90% of the time I listen to NPR) -samsung s6
I have a Moto X 1st gen, running lollipop 5.1. The "Now Playing" isn't up to date with the new programming. I'm listening to Wait Wait, but the app says it's Best of Car Talk, and so on...
But I occasionally experience a crash--apparently not as often as some other folks do.
I haven't had very many issues with this app crashing like others. Works great on my Samsung Note 4
Crash crash crash crash crash crash crash crash crash. I lived in southern NH and love NHPR, but, particularly of late the instability of this app is very frustrating. It, oddly like the others, does not seem to play well with other NPR apps (wbur, wbez, and nm wnyc's bloated 100mb piece of trash). Also, frequently switching between apps seems to be like kryptonite for this app.
The NHPR app works great. I do have the occasional crashes as others have mentioned, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. But it's a terrific service offered by NHPR. It's intuitive, easy to use and very functional.
I love the station and I love the app. It lets me catch up on what I've missed or find out more about what I've heard.
The streaming pauses frequently, and also frequently gets interrupted by sudden ads (which I think might be related to the unstable streaming).
Full WiFi and full 4G it keeps telling me I have no network connectivity
I use this app to hear NHPR when I can't on the radio and it works flawlessly.
Great app and great radio station. The app works well. No issues. can listen to live radio and my favorite shows
Love NHPR, but the app crashes a lot.
The BEST way to get your NHPR fix on your schedule.
Sometimes drops service
Good, a bit unstable
So nice to have for the gym
Great dependable info
The app needs some more work before putting it on Google Play. It crashes before it even starts Reinstalled but same thing. Too bad. I'm using Android 5.0 which is coming out to all users pretty fast now. Please fix. I listen a lot to NHPR via other means.
Not to bad, but the content is hardly ever updated. Feel like I see the same stories for weeks if not longer.
Could not sustain longer than 90 seconds of use before crashing. I tried multiple times to use the app and it crashed every time. Caca.
Update: crashes frequently. Original post: Reinstalled, trying again... Crashes trying to do anything. It used to work, except for member card searching. Now - totally broken. Too bad.
Much more usable, enjoying this app thoroughly. Now if I could only figure out how to remove its icon from the status bar at the top of my Android phone after I finish listening...

I've used this app for more than a year. It's between more cumbersome and fragile than other audio apps. I haven't used it stop much lately. It does seem to be better than it was. I have a four, it 3.5 seems about right... Now I'm getting harassed each time I start the app to do lengthy login. Don't see ez away to have it save for next opening. It's quite aggravating.
