Maine Public Broadcasting App

The radio portion of this app is far superior to accessing stations on a web browser. It's stable and easy to navigate. I haven't spent time on the television side of the app, so I can't rate it. Since the latest update, I can't turn the app off. It drains my battery as it continually runs in the background. HELP!

I don't need a radio any more! It stops or becomes unresponsive frequently.

Buggy, drops out frequently, won't quit as expected, pause becomes un-paused at random.

Makes it easy to watch their outstanding content at my schedule

Don't like the new name or logo, but I love the station! Great programming!

Great source for NPR programming, but does not play in background and quits often.

Great for getting my Maine Public fix

I use this primarily to stream the radio over my phone. I love it- it works great!!!!

The app would be getting five stars except it has quit working. It opens normally but if I select either TV or radio and then select a channel it crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and it does the same thing. This is on a Moto G 4 running Android 6. Please fix!

It's the first thing I do in the am is to turn to MPR and the last thing I do at night. There's nothing I don't like about it. Now that the classical has its own channel I get so much more out of my MPR.

Generally ok, although sometimes it doesn't work and I have better luck going to the web site. Also doesn't necessarily list all new shows first.

This is a good app to have to access public radio although sometimes the quality is not good, pieces get skipped or repeated or it just stops working.

Love being able to listen while I work, so many of my favorite programs to listen to. Thanks Maine Public Radio!!

Nice to have an alternative to the version on my computer. Gives me another option for getting to the music I love.

I would like to read the description of the program without starting it. I click on the description and it just starts playing.

Working in another state, it's great to be able to follow stories important to Maine.

Very handy for streaming MPBN from my smartphone when I'm not in the car.

For offline listening. Simple as providing link.

I love the easy access to mpbn streaming but was most pleased by the on demand section with all the npr podcast greats!

The app is great! The app does not need to access my camera/location/history/identity/contact list/etc.! Probably someone forgot to uncheck a box somewhere during development, but this app originally asked for EVERY possible permisson when I installed it.

Used to love this app, but sorry that I updated to version 3.7.24.1. Livestream radio now begins with underwriter ads and frequently interrupts stream to play said ads, meaning I miss important details in news stories. Frustrating.

I've been resisting dropping a star because I so love MPBN and the work they do. Unfortunately, the stability of this app is so bad that it would be disingenuous to rate it more highly. The live audio stream hiccups literally every few minutes - and sometimes every few seconds. It's unlistenable. Add the frequent crashes, and I'm reluctantly switching to another public radio streaming app. Sorry MPBN!

Moto x, gen 1, occasionally crashes when streaming Bluetooth audio. Good interface though.

The only issue I really have is that it likes to hang on in the background even after I think I've closed it. Maybe there's a way to fix that, but if so it's unintuitive.

Better than the NPR app I was using before, but crashes way too much. I finally broke down and ordered a FM radio.

I love mpbn and am a member. I see potential in this app but you're not there yet. Needs to be more reliable most of all.

Okay, I love the idea! We use online MPBN for almost all of our radio access at home and I was never particularly thrilled with the NPR app. I love the ability to find Maine news easily. My primary complaint is that the app doesn't close well. I'm using a Nexus 4 running Android 5.1.1. When I attempt to swipe the program to get it to close, it pops right back. I'd also like to see This Day in Maine a little more prominently featured. But I'm still new to the app, so I might be missing it at times.
