About Andronome, the Great Metronome

The musicians metronome - simple, professional, accurate.

Andronome is designed to keep time, and to do it well. Simple in appearance and use, this metronome contains the most precise time engine available. The perfect metronome. But no cluttered user interface, no unnecessary bells or whistles. And no advertising, strange permissions or hidden fees.

With the Andronome metronome you'll get:
* Sample-accurate metronome ticks.
* Loud enough sounds, also for real practice environments.
* Clearly visible, great screen indication and...
* ...really large BPM numbers (visible from a distance, e.g when lying on the stage floor).
* Tempo adjustable between 20 and 240 BPM.
* Start and stop via touch screen, hardware buttons, headset.
* Tap tempo directly on screen.
* And that's about it!

This metronome is the professional choice, giving the working musician exactly what is needed. No more, no less. And completely for free! (No, there's no catch: no in-app fees, no advertising, no time limits.)

If you for some reason think you need a metronome with more features, please check out the other metronomes available on the Android Market. There's plenty of choice out there - I can especially recommend Andronome+ and the Rude Drum Trainer. This version of Andronome will be kept simple. And free.

Users guide:

There are often several ways to get at the most important functions of the Andronome metronome. Most users will prefer to use the touch screen, like this:
* Tap the screen once to start the metronome.
* Tap again or long press (touch and hold) the screen to stop the metronome.
* Adjust the tempo by swiping the finger over the screen. Fling or swipe up to increase the BPM, down to decrease.
* Tap the tempo on the screen, and the metronome will adjust to the tapped tempo.
* Sound on/off is controlled on the action bar. Adjust the tick sound using the volume controls of the phone (Andronome play through the standard media channel).
* The visible indication (screen blink) can be disabled and enabled on the action bar.

It's a metronome, keeps the time well, has the best visual feedback and can be seen from far. What else to ask for? sound is perfect, unlike others...

M70%

Simple, precise, with tap. The rest is optional

M70%
by M####:

I use this as a tempo timer when making hypnotherapy recordings. Start off at 120 then gradually down to 70 ish theoretically the listener's heart rate should follow as they relax.

M70%
by M####:

Great sound, great tempo. Best simple metronome in the market.

E70%
by E####:

Like many touch based apps the sensitivity is far too high so you cannot accurately set the tempo with standing completely still and even the slightest movement up or down when tapping the screen will alter the tempo.

by O####:

No lagg its very respnsive. No problems at all. Everything you could possibly want from a metronome

L70%
by L####:

On the Samsung Galaxy S5 after a recent update (I don't know whether it was the app or my Android) the visual tempo does not keep up with the audio tempo over about 80 beats per minute, and in a noisy environment, the app has become virtually unusable unless you keep your metre below 80 and double the time for faster tempos.

Great app :-) I play full scale funk bass guitar and soprano ukulele easy to use app at home or playing live gigs :-) highly recommend to all musicians . Great app :-)

This is the app I was looking for. It's stable, easy to set tempo, and doesn't require any special permissions. Great job, developer!

On the Samsung Galaxy S5 I see no menu, so I can not change any settings other than the tempo....Later update...I received a very nice and prompt response from the developer telling me about how to access the menus that have been hidden by the new Galaxy system. I was amazed and very pleasantly surprised by the helpful response. Thank you!

It doesnt. BTW, Google Play sent me an email re your comment, but since my comments are not showing up in the list, I cannot rear your replay to that comment. It's a Google server issue for sure, and has been broken for 6 days. They know, and r working on a fix.

It's rather very simple and just plain awesome! Beginner on guitar here, and heck! I have been searching for a metronome for a very long time, until now :-D. Full screen for the number display, swiping to change that number, touching to start and holding to stop! It is just plain awesome. Also, I am one of those few who are fussy with bg processes, and I usually have only two. Am saying this as I ain't facing any problem with this app hogging the ram, as a few others have said. Thanks a million bro :-)

X70%
by X####:

Simple and beautiful UI. Just shows the tempo. Touch to start. Tap or swipe to change tempo. Long press to stop. I don't see a metronome getting any better than this. No first best accent or time signature support. When I need them I'll use another metronome app, but this stays as my default metronome. Not to developer: I tend to 'touch' to stop, keep forgetting the long press. This alters the tempo. :(

K70%
by K####:

My only problem is the blink is off from the sound, unless you're timing it with the black background. If so then that is just confusing.

K70%
by K####:

Good app zero permissions. Just what I need and nothing more. It would be nice to be able to enter the BPM instead of using the slider. Hard to dial in an exact beat.

blink does not give uniform beats in time, and is not synched to sound. Professional theater musician, here. Let's try another...
