Canada:Marine Navigation Charts &Lake Fishing Maps for Android
DANGER Great program but missing critical charts In Canada Ontario charts are missing! Critical high resolution charts for that Georgian Bay Small craft route and The Trent Severn Canal system and possibly more! You can be travelling along in bad weather and then find the chart is not supplied in an area full of rocks and shallow water. I brought it to their attention last year and it has not been fixed. Be aware North of Britt on small craft route you will need an alternate program or paper charts to navigate.
Easy to use, dependable.
Loaded on my Samsung tablet, also runs with my phone. Haven't used on the water yet but it looks like it will work, especially as a backup or second display. GPS tracks position without data connection. Can tether to my phone to download a chart for a harbour enroute so long as I have a data connection. The price of the app is equal to one paper chart. Great value. UPDATE Used frequently for cruising off Vancouver Island. Terrific app and value. Can plan the route at home and open it up on board.
This is an easy to use accurate navigation program. The auto follow feature is great and the app is intuitive. I had a slight problem with the charts and got great support to resolve the issue. Works great on my tablet and well worth the money.
App is OK, but support seems to be lacking, I used it on a boat trip last year and again on a cruise this spring, but now I wanted to download some new maps and it seems to have lost the activation key and will not download. .and I seem to lost my emails from purchase and asked for them to resend but apparently are being ignored. .. asked both via their website and via email .. both ingnored. do not buy if you expect any support and service. If your comment below is true, why was this not put on the info and explained before the purchase, rather than let purchasers believe that this was a longer term purchase. ... possibly because they would not then purchase!!! so what must one do. purchase the entire package again, surely a second subscription should be severely discounted.
I used it on a trip to the Broughton Islands this summer. Very stable on my Motorola xoom. Could have better place name descriptions, like island names and towns.
I use this as a back up to my other navigation system on a commercial fish boat.
Highly recommended.
Works great and the support is second to none.
Excellent tech support! They got the hydrographic data for my favourite local lake after I let them know it was missing. The numbers for water depth are large and clear easy to read under all conditions unlike similar products which have tiny numbers barely legible at maximum zoom.
We used this app last summer and it was great for navigating Stoney Lake, where there are over 1,000 islands and many more rocks just below the surface. Having an accurate chart and a GPS combined was ideal. When we returned this summer, the updated app, changed chart formats, and my new device were not happy together, but the support from the author was spot on and VERY FAST! I was impressed. It is working perfectly with my Nexus 5X now. It is nice to see an app supported properly. Makes all the difference in the world for a comfortable user experience.
I've used this for a few years now, it's one of the best out there. Support is good and quick too.
This sux after the update. . I downloaded navionics
Just what I needed for cruising . Not sure if I can download the app on another phone or do I need to purchase again
Same charts but disorganized UI.
App does what it says and is a handy tool. Customer support from developer is unbelievably bad: they do not follow through with customer complaints. The map downloader is clumsy as you can only download small areas at once. Developer now requires yearly repurchase of app to keep maps up to date, a fact which is not clearly stated in the purchase conditions but seems to be the standard for navigation apps.
I rated it one star because there was no lower option. I want my money back. It doesn't show the charts for rivers affected by tidal waters. The charts stop at the river entrance. You should have a few days for free trials on this app, instead of letting people waste 26 dollars. I hope my comments can save a few people a few dollars. Can I please have a refund? Thanks for listening
Used this app on a boat i just bought. It czme with a garmin gpsmap 76. The display on my s5 beats the Garmin hands down.
Works well. A more appropriate location (vessel) or arrow icon would be nice, otherwise app proved to be a very useful tool.
I loved it at first, now the app says my maps are out of date and I need to buy them again. Restoring my purchase only downloads the old maps and the app constantly nags you that your maps are old. Very disappointed!!
It works well for me. Such a great deal for the price.
Super app does everything, easily!
App is missing tides functionality for all waters between vancover/Blaine to Alaska . Vendor says coming soon but not soon enough. Update tides added but vendor wants me to pay again! Subscription based - avoid!
Used this app during my circumnavigation of Lake Ontario. Good charts that show buoys. Having to choose chart each time at start up is a pain, but otherwise my favourite.
I have been using this app for two years. In combination with my GPS, it provides accurate position, direction and movement details. I have used it with a paper chart both for dead reconning and plotted positioning and I am confident in the app's ability and accuracy.
This app works better for me than my old sitex 6000nt. More details and intuitive interfaces.
Clear,easy,accurate
Works perfect! Everything I need!
Just what I needed for cruising . Not sure if I can download the app on another phone or do I need to purchase again
Its doing it for me. Got all the functions I wanted really easy to use.
Is the best!
Predicted path vector does not work. Manual explains this will come in an update. According to customer support the update is done but I must buy the app again to get this feature.

Used it in Buckhorn lake and it was very accurate. It tracked my location, direction and speed. Waypoints I saved were easy to recall. I won't go fishing without it. I'm using it on a Motorola Moto G. I downloaded most of the charts for the Great Lakes, Trent and Georgian Bay. It was more convenient than using my Navionics on a laptop with the GPS connected.
The Good: This app supports Canadian charts and the display is clear, tiling of the charts works well The Bad: Interface does not work well. Having to choose a chart just to get to the main screen is dumb, it should open to the last position. Follow me does not work well, no obvious way to switch to north up. Emailing a GPX file off the tablet fails. The App needs work, mainly on the way the app opens and operates.

Takes the place of my pocket Garmin units when I'm on my sailboat. Love the slider that let's you go from charts to maps, very helpful when exploring the Gulf Islands here in British Columbia.
I would add also integration with marine Traffic application and weather radar

Really like the app and have it on my phone and tablet. I compared it to other apps and prefer this one. Compared to the chart plotter on my boat, it acquires and maintains satellites better and uses less power. I would really like it if i could click on features for more info, but maybe in later versions. For this, i would have given it a 4.5, but rounded up.
