Screen Off Keep Playing

What this is doing is making your display completely black, not turning off the screen. But the app description clearly states that. If it actually turned off your display then it wouldn't work. Simple as that. So that said, this app will obviously be more useful for devices with AMOLED displays as opposed to LCD. Take some time to research how these apps work instead of mindlessly giving it one star because it didn't actually turn off your display.

Don't listen to the mental weaklings that expect the world handed to them on a silver platter. The app works if you take literally a minute to read the prompts on the screen. Anyone that can't navigate their way though this app should just give up and buy an iPhone

At least explain what you are going to do with that permission! == Update 1 == The developer answered my question quickly. Will wait and see what's changed in the next version. It's really good but if you want to have it play with a black screen you can't turn the phone off but you have to TURN UP THE MUSIC UP it will definitely work, but I just have to get used to not turning off my phone. Other than that works great with youtube!!

I love to listen to You Tube music in my car, and this app. lets me do that without the screen on without having to pay for You Tube Red! WONDERFUL. Works perfectly. It's a little freaky at first when the screen turns off, but just press up volume button for selected time, and screen comes on again. Thanks for a great app! Well done.

Half of the "accessibility" options were greyed out. And there is no good explenation of what it does / steps for using it - poor documentation.

Absolutely perfect. I was getting so frustrated because my computer is down for the count and my kindle doesn't play videos while I'm doing other things so it's deathly silent and I just wanted to listen to my videos in the background. That was all I wanted. Thank you so much for this app. It is wonderful and exactly what I was hoping for!

it doesn't let you lock off your mobile device and turn off the screen. it just place a black wallpaper so it looks like your phone is turned off but it's not...

It does what it's supposed to. Allow us to enjoy music while multitasking on our devices. YouTube should be ashamed of themselves for not allowing this without a price.

Just long press your volume down real quick before you blast yourself. And also you can hit the three dots in the top right of the settings screen to change the long press duration.

I pressed my power off button to turn off my screen while playing YouTube and it didn't work, then I long pressed the volume up and it went to a black screen.. Not what I was looking for.

Tell me I read wrong and I change the rating but seen that app is asking to observe info including such as credit card numbera and password if you type

App doesn't turn off screen it just makes the screen go black with it still on, your not really accomplishing anything, also ear rapes you when trying to activate it

I do find the trickery involved to be clever, but you should mention that it works best on an AMOLED display, and it should also lower the brightness all the way or totally get rid of the white icon on the screen.

This app doesn't actually turn the screen off, it just "draws" a black rectangle on your screen, hence (depending on the device) there is still a lot of light coming out of the screen. Also, it shows ads while the screen is supposed to be black. What's the point?

Maybe it does for others but I can't get past the first screen. Everything is enabled and I press accept - nothing happens

Very useful app. Would be nice if you could turn the screen back on with home button, to avoid having to press lock button which pauses the video.

If, as the developer says himself, there's no way to really turn the screen off, why call it "screen off" then?

Omg this fixed my biggest pet peav I would be listening to my scary stories on YouTube and doing household chores and a button would press and screw everything up so I would have to stop doing everything I was doing to adjust my phone boy did that make me mad. This app totally solves that problem.....thank you so much saved me a lot of aggravation......also when I'm in bed listening now there will be no accidental pressing of buttons......

I want to say that this application does exactly what it says it will do. I'm not sure if it's saves any battery life. But I know it does two things that I find very important. First it does make the screen black. And it keeps any application believing that this screen is being viewed. This will prevent your programs from stopping and it will prevent any possible screen burn-in. If you use a task killer that actually works then you will need to go back into the accessories when you start the app to re-enable in this app in the accessories. Or just start the app and press on the first Go Button. It will take you where you need to go and turn it back on. Or you can add this application to a whitelist in the task killer. I have only found one task killer that actually works. If you're interested it is called shut app. I sent the developers a note and perhaps they will integrate some functionality to indicate this problem. I use the app because I use another app to import my YouTube playlist. Even though I'm using another app the YouTube songs being played force you to leave the screen on. By utilizing this app I don't have to do that per se. I listened all night. Why do I want my screen on all night? I know there's another answer. But the app I use minimizes any commercials from YouTube.

"Press below button to activate app". Pressed, says saved, nothing happens. Everything is enabled.

Id rather waste my battery then use this app, it's worthless no point in an app that doesn't do what it's supposed to do

When I downloaded this I didn't exactly have high hopes, I thought I was going to have to download cracks and apk files and change stuff to get this to work but this app is so simple and there's no adds as far as I can tell it's awesome m8

Enabled in accessibility and activated service. Still stops playing after screen off... Z5 Compact orig. software.

I followed the directions, and it didn't work. It said "hold volume up button to turn off screen" but if I'm watching videos where I need volume control, it's not a good idea to have the volume option do something else. Not that it worked anyway.

this app, does not work. IF, it REALLY works, can somebody tell me how? I don't want it. It won't even work if you want to use another app! If I could, I would put ZERO stars.

Ridiculous. This wants to monitor my actions and track what I type (including card numbers and passwords) CRAZY!

It's ok app. But when I uninstalled it made all sounds of other applications to have short silence in the begining.

Just makes the screen black with ads at the bottom. When you actually lock your phone the playback stops.

As of yesterday, since 'Google Play Services' updated, the app doesn't work anymore :(

Great app, it works for me. I have rooted phn tho, don't know if that's the reason!!

Don't take in account the lammers reviews, the app runs fine.

Screen is not off. It is still responding to touches. Volume goes to maximum when screen is blanked.

Instead of saving battery it takes so much.
