I'm very sorry for the low review; the app looks lovely. However, there is a "problem getting models from server" issue. I cannot access anything on the app. If you could fix this that would be great, thank you.

I tried for a very long time to find what I now know (from another source) to be some species of sea cucumber. There was no echinoderm category on the app and I felt like there were a lot of categories missing as well. Additionally, some of the categories looked like they needed points to unlock them, but there was no explanation on how to obtain said points. There is also a glitch where species won't load. The only good thing about the app was that the animal details were specific and easy to ID.

Couldn't use it, signing in and downloading modules not possible due to sever error. iPhone app doesn't work neither.

Ocean Life ID doesn't allow you to do anything like it used to. It used to be outstanding until the new update was downloaded. Now it just freezes and kicks me out of the app.

How do you get access to the modules? No option to actually earn the necessary points. Used to be a very useful tool. Now largely pointless.

Z70%
by Z####:

This was a great app until they locked out the majority of the groups and give no explanation for how to open them.

T70%

Like this app. A search function per cathegory would be a major improvement though... where did you hide the rays and sharks? Cant seem to find them.

Z70%

Is there some reason most of the groups are locked up

I have a few suggestions I do alot of diving and have problems identifying alot of the creatures under water from fish to anemones to crustaceans there's so many of them. It would be nice if we organise these creatures by region and add alot more species to this app.

Me encanta el mundo marino y suelo bucear con un amigo. Esta aplicación siempre nos permite encontrar todas las especies que nos encontramos mientras buceamos. Muy completo.

Great helped me a lot. I am only 13 and I am getting a Masters degree in Marine Biologist degree. Helped me study identification.

Y70%

Although no matter how fast my internet speed is some pictures take forever to load and I believe two sawfishes are now recognize to be the same species (listed as two different ones here) and many species have more than one common name in the same language depending on region, I'd recommend this to any fellow marine biologist, marine conservationist or marine enthusiasts. Good job mates, best app I've ever used.

Absolutely brilliant for what it is. Has a really good library, gives some very important identification information and also pretty easy to use. I'd really like to see some coral species (families) in there, and maybe even a flashcard/quiz style bit to help you learn species!

It's a great format with tons of useful search features. However, some things are mislabeled. It showed a picture of the Atlantic on a map for the pacific in one instance and listed the blue whales English name as blue rorqual.

The app is great and handy. But the fish Id is limited. Hope can update more. Thanks

The number of characteristics used for each group may be a bit intimidating but as soon as you find you can get satisfactory results with half a dozen characters (or less) it gets pretty fast, even with animals you're not familiar with.

X70%

Confined to larger organisms. I was hoping for other species, ie hydroids, bryozoans, tunicates and nudibranchs....
