Skagen Connected

For something that you want to refer to as "smart," it's pretty dumb to limit it to notifications for just 6 people across 6 apps. EDIT March 2017: as of a recent update, now no data shows up when it syncs the watch, even though the hands spin and the app says updated just now. As it is, the app is entirely useless now.

Improved heaps! It stays connected & functioning with the app closed. This is great. However when it does disconnect it's a little tricky getting it connected again (aeroplane mode on then off) fixes it. It would be nice to have the option "all other notifications" like there is an option for "all call" and "all texts" as well as specific contacts.

I now have ghost alarms on my watch that don't appear in the app. Any idea when we are going to get an update? Considering how expensive the watch is there doesn't seem to be many updates to the app. And please, telling us that the comments have gone to the developers is getting old. Please update the app!

No mixed feelings about my Skagen Connected watch. It's a great watch! However, i have some mixed feelings about the app, especially when it comes to the number of supported apps. Gmail, hangouts, SMS, Whatsapp and Facebook (Messenger) are supported. Notifications from apps as Google Calendar, Google Keep, Outlook (my professional mail client) are not. And that's a pity. i am NOT an Android developer but would it be possible to use the notifications in the notification drawer as a base for the notifications on the watch and have the app filter which notifications result in a notification on the watch?

Sleep Activity tracking works well for me but have only been wearing 3 days. Alerts on the watch need to vibrate more, are barely noticeable . last night I had trouble sleeping and it rated 0. I do not understand. Never before did that

It's not particularly inventive or exciting to use and it is extremely limited in regard to information. Just remember that it's to accompany your watch. If you find the app disappointing then you're not gonna be happy with the watch. I love the watch, it's simple and does what it needs to do. The app is just a dashboard ... Very dull, basic and sooooooo boring to use. You'll stop using after a few days and just go back to enjoy your watch which is why you bought it. No bells, no whistles, no adrenaline rush. It's perfectly suited to its role.

Easy app. Simple. Clean. The sleep tracker is very inaccurate. Maybe that's the app. Maybe that's my skagen watch. It will tell me I slept 7 hours when in fact I'd have been awake thrashing around all night sleepless. Then on nights I get a food sleep, same result. The activity tracker is fine though.

I had some connectivity issues but seems better now. A couple of weeks since I used it so npt sure yet. Other than thatI am pleased with both my watch and app. I only wish there were support for more types of notification and general customization.

Update 12/2/17: After latest watch update connectivity issues seems to be resolved! It's very good to have updates and after sale support. The only issue that is still exist on my watch/phone is that the Control Music feature on skagen link is not working properly. // Design:very beautiful watch. Issues obsevation: Some times I have connectivity and synching issues. Sollution: unpair/pair the skagen watch from the bluetooth settings on my mobile. Skagen link for music control worked only for pause, no any other rest actions worked( forward and rewind). I tried, to activate on skagen link the camera. Also, it's not working now. Before some days I activated it was working fine. These are stability issues. Please fix them. Are critical issues for watch quality!!!!

The watch is a good idea a proper watch that can connect to your phone but here are the cons 1.only 6 contacts who only has six contacts. 2.the vibration is very weak even on strongest setting could be stronger. 3. My Samsung pedometer will generally read on average 3000-4000 more steps than my skagen. I have read answers from skagen about these problems from other people and it seems to be the same answer we are happy to hear from you and we will be updating in the future. Hmmm we will see won't we

It looks nice and the quality is top notch but it's functionality is basic. Yes it tracks steps - yes it monitors sleep (not totally accurate) starts and stops music - time and date and allows you to set alarms if you need reminders to get moving (office job) drink water etc. But that's about it - you can't monitor specific activity like cycling-swimming (not waterproof anyway) -gym workout etc. The only measure is to manually move up the counter to say how many times you have excersised in say a week. Poor. The watch has no idea what you're doing other than counting your steps. Pity - I was expecting more for the money-if I'd have checked the app thoroughly and compared it to Withings I'd have probably gone for that.

I'm really loving this watch and the app is reasonably good. I would love to see much more customisation though. Maybe the option to turn off step display to get more notification indators? Also the supported app list for notifications is tiny; it doesn't even support calendar notifications.

So far so good. I really like the watch and the ease of changing the battery and the fact that it lasts more than 18 hours on one charge. The app is good clean design, easy to use, however some work needed such as expanding out the notifications selection to more apps and being able to change the button function - having a date button and a.multi function button that both display the date is a bit surplus to requirements.

Mmm grt watch but app not so grt. Got latest version and phone shows connected to watch but when open app it doesn't sync and have to turn phone off and on and even then it's a hit an miss!!

Needs a bit more functionality. It would be nice to be able to make a alarm repeat on certain days of the week. It would be nice to be able to delete an alarm. It would be nice to enable a "silent" alarm where the phonr doesn't make any noise.

Really love the watch and the app. Doesn't seem to be in sync to google fit even though I linked them. Other than that I use it every day.

Gets the basics right, but missing Spotify support. Does someone still listen to mp3s anyway? (Control music feature)

A week in its great! I've had no issues and plenty of people expressing surprise and interested in learning it's a smart watch

The tracking works great. The charts let you track your progress over time.

I love the watch but I would say OK for the apps...

Works seamlessly on my android phone. It would be even better if there's a weekly or monthly view

It sometimes needs a bit of coaxing to pair itself with the whole watch/phone/app connection.

Great watch and an accompanying app with a clean interface. Couldn't have asked for more!

It would be good if it could push my calendar notifications.

Really love my watch. The design is perfect and the smart functions are almost exactly what I've been looking for. The partner app has a clean and modern aesthetic to match. I wish I could set weekday-only alarms. Also, matching the "contacts" from apps like whatsapp would also be great since lumping them all together as it does today is not a great experience. Other messaging app support like telegram would also be welcomed. I guess I really wish there was an SDK so I could contribute things like the above. All told, very happy with my purchase though.

Edit to previous review: The last firmware update on the watch seems to have resolved the connectivity issues. I have updated my review accordingly. Alarms: Difficult to remove old alarms. Features: It would be nice to have the ability to set up custom notifications. Integration with more apps (eg Tasker) would be great.

Really good does everything i need without information overload. Smart and sophisticated hybrid smartwatch, actually looks like a watch rather than some of the awful smartwatches i have seen on the market. Thankyou fossil and thankyou skagen for bringing style to this market.

Basically worthless. Won't stay connected, difficult to connect. It loses data often. The only good feature is the watch looks nice. Would definitely not buy this again.

There are no pending updates with the Skagen app, and the app shows to have my watch connected. My watch vibrates for notifications and for the alarm, but it will never sync my steps. I see small dial go up as my steps increase throughout the day, but it never syncs to the phone. I have restarted my phone, and also tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, but still it will not sync my steps. I am not sure what else I can do, seem like everything works except syncing the steps.

Loved Skagen watches

This is a brilliant app which records your step count and allows you to recieve notification straight to your wrist however the latest version has stopped notifications working correctly. Please revert back to the old version as soon as possible. Thanks

Every device but the Skagen syncs with half a dozen more fitness apps So Skagen just replied to my review, that is great and i'm appreciative. That said the "alarm" function doesn't work, notifications are so hit or miss on my wrist...So sad, given how much i've spent on this watch and Skagen in general.

I don't understand why the SKAGEN LINK functions (vibration when somebody calls you) only work when the app is open on the mobile phone. The fitbits watch for example also notifies you when the app is closed because it maintains the functions in the background.

After owning a few smart watches that nearly dumbed me down with information overload (and yes I know how to turn off notifications), I finally found a smart watch that does what I need, no more. First, the watch itself is beautiful and elegantly designed. Second, the way the app and the watch interact is extremely well designed. Third, the app collects the data I need and makes controlling the watch and accessing the data straightforward. Well done.

Still needs work app couldn't sync with watch... So what does it do deletes the paired watch and loses all the unsynchronized data, not very clever app. What were you thinking ????
