My Anchor Watch for Android
Loved the app, used it 3 nights last week and the alarm sounded once when the wind caused my anchor to drag outside the set radius. I keep forgetting that when I take my phone to shore with me the alarm goes off. I guess I should use tablet and let it notify my phone, so when I'm on shore I can be notified of the anchor drag? I think I would like the pro version, but didn't see where or how to upgrade.
This anchor watch program is extremely well thought out and implemented. It is oriented towards those who are really interested in protecting their boat. Quite a bit more sophisticated than other apps.
Perfect. Hint: Set radius wider to accommodate weak GPS readings
A great little app but I paid for a pro version. Where has it gone????
Excellent app and easy to understand. How to turn off the anchor could be more direct.
Been using for years. Best anchor alarm app out there! Simple interface, effective, and easy to use.
So far the best anchor watch what I have found.
Have been using this app for several weeks now. Very useful to see the boat track- as it indicates how close the boat drift is to the alarm drag limit. If anchored in the same spot for any length of time you can fine tune the alarm drag distance. I also find that it does not drain my phone battery too much (Samsung S7) so I don't need to have it on charge at night. A well thought out app that is very practical to use.
Have been using this app on prior phone. Had to reinstall as it is copy protected. Occasional false alarms but I'd rather those than dragging anchor.
This is a good FREE app. But what happened to the PRO version that I paid for and is still on my old Android tablet?
User friendly; although description of setting up is a little hard to visualize at first.
Would rate higher but.... cant manually set anchor position and randomly goes to stand by. Would also like to see chart overlay.
Finally, an anchor watch done right! See where you are, AND where your anchor is. Point to the anchor with the built in compass after you've dropped it. See your swing history graphically. Receive a text or email alarm when you're away. Many other uses for this app. Sjaell is responsive! This is more than well done. Get it.
This app accesses your profile info, your cards and your camera, photos and other information when all it needs to do is monitor your gps location and movement when anchored
The best anchor app I have tried so far. And I have tried most of them. And easy to use.
Good app. Does exactly what it says on t b e box
We have been on the hook for the last 4 days and experienced 30+ kt winds. Long story short, I was concerned about dragging my anchor, so I started testing anchor alert apps. I went nuts, testing 15 of the top apps, including 5 that I paid up to $15.99 for. I am not related to MAW in any way and do not have anything to do with the company, but the MAW was absolutely the best for my purposes. MAW is sophisticated, but not mind-numbingly so that you don’t even know if the thing is set right or even working. It has all the features any sailor would need. I don’t care who you are, when you are anchored in significant winds, you worry about dragging (at least you should). Honestly, I still worried about dragging when the wind howls sounded like a rock ship taking off, but I worried a heck of a lot less when I had MAW checking the boat’s position relative to the anchor every 2 seconds! I give it my highest rating!
Has a nice and intuitive feel, much better than the other anchor watch apps. Had one small issue with screen button labels that I reported to the developer. In turn, the developer corrected the issue immediately and provided me with an updated version. Support couldn't have been any better.
Use it every day. Sailing to Panama and beyond. Gives me piece of mind every night I am on the hook and every time I am away from my boat. I leave a phone/tablet on the boat when I leave the boat. It has called me two times when my anchor was dragging over the last two months. Great app. Documentation is excellent. Not the normal useless minimal stuff.

Not really that good. You need to allow the anchor location to be set by manually entering a GPS coordinate, not just by bearing and rode length. We always have the person at the helm set a waypoint on the chartplotter when the anchor is first dropped. Transferring that coordinate to an app would be really useful. Bearing and rode length alone would be wildly inaccurate.
