RTA's mParking service (mParking) is a new value-added service that will allow motorists to pay for their virtual parking permit using their Etisalat and Du mobile phones by simply sending an SMS in a pre-defined format to 7275 (PARK) thus eliminating the need to walk to the Payment Display (P/D) Machines and search for coins. The mParking service also alerts the motorist via an SMS prior to virtual permit expiry and if needed the motorist can extend his/her parking period from his/her office or home without having to walk to his/her vehicle.
In order to make the SMS format easy, registration will be not be required for Dubai registered private plate numbers starting with the alphabet character A-K & M whilst all other motorists who own a non Dubai private registered plate number MUST register to use the mParking service.
The Hassle of booking tickets via SMS for parking cars in parking zones got me thinking and i came up with a simplified solution to do the same with as little effort as possible.
Though i have taken Dubai (7275) as the first city for this app, plans are to extend this app to every other country where such a service of mParking is offered.
Basically how the app works is it takes out the Manual pain of typing a SMS every time you want to book a ticket and Automates the same.

It's got some flaws... It remembers my parking location, but at the final screen fills it in as 'null'. Also, it's difficult to know if the text message was sent... Until you get the response message

is there a way to get rid of the sms fee like official rta app has, Though it sux big time. note its cheaper to use hrly basis as for 2 hrs = 5 dhs, 3 hrs = 8 dhs, 4 hrs = 11 & renewal for 1hr is 3 dhs... Something is not right.

Menu items not showing. I get blank buttons and I have to guess which is which. Also disabled notifications but still cannot get rid of the "auto renewal off" notification, even after time is over.

Would it be too difficult for the developer to use location recognition or adding a database for each area and its zone number? How many times we walked the street left and right to find the zone's number? Apparently RTA doesn't provide zones' map??? Even though, it is a simple task to put it down without RTA's help
