What are users saying about Simple FODMAP

by C####:

Waste of time. There are better lists online. Too limited

C70%
by C####:

Yes is simple and limited in search items but a really easy app to use for a quick search.

C70%
by C####:

Can't search without a search button lol

C70%
by C####:

Changed my life

C70%
by C####:

this app is SO limited in its data base. 60% of the common everyday foods i try to look up arent on here ie. kale, chard just most recently. Some more research and data should of been collected before creating this app. Definately an uninstall for me

C70%
by C####:

Yes it is a nice simple, searchable FODMAP food list. But there are mistakes. For example in your list "Xanatham gum" is listed as NOT OK. Ignoring the typo, Xantham gum is listed everywhere else as FODMAP free. What is the source of your list? There are many contradictory listings out there. Perhaps a each item should have 5 symbols next to them, one for each F-O-D-M-P with a traffic light coloring system indicating its rating.

Q70%
by Q####:

How about a feature that scans the bar or QR code of a grocery store product and evaluates its ingredients for FODMAP? Would also like to be able to edit the list for content and ratings.

Q70%
by Q####:

It's free. It's a simple searchable list in an app. What's not to like. If you want something more comprehensive like a lot of reviewers (sigh) then pay for it. Great app.

Q70%
by Q####:

Simple scrolling list of good and bad foods with a search field at the top. Simple, fast, perfect.

P70%
by P####:

Missing many ingredients. Like no BREAD! Broccoli is missing also.

N70%
by N####:

It seems to be little more than a list of foods, many being misspelled. The search function doesn't work for my Samsung Galaxy S3. I'll just bookmark a list from a website on my browser instead of using up memory.

Q70%
by Q####:

Missing a lot of basic items, for instance broccoli isn't even on the list, nor ham and many others that people eat regularly.

W70%

Search didn't work

Q70%

Basic items are not on the list.

List

D70%
by D####:

Very limited, pointless.

Q70%
by Q####:

Didn't help at all. New to this. I had to type in food. To see if its ok or not. Grrr. No recipes or anything like that. Not good for newbies.

D70%
by D####:

Although not all foods are represented I have found this very useful as a quick reference, while out and about.

D70%
by D####:

I downloaded 6 apps, and aside from the fact that different foods pop up in different allowable versus non allowable groups...in this app alone, Sweet potato pops up twice, as fine and then potentially not.

B70%
by B####:

Basic guide with so many of the major foods most people eat missing that it is a bit pointless

D70%
by D####:

Not very accurate

Y70%
by Y####:

I know you can't have every food in the world, but no broccoli? Also occasionally seems a bit inconsistent or contradictory, but generally very helpful for figuring out what I can and can't eat.

Y70%
by Y####:

...and to that end, it's fine. Since no list can be complete, it would be nice to have a feature that would allow you to add to the list, using their symbols, as you figure out more on your own and another to make notes on existing items. Part of FM is the slow process of figuring out what works for you, so just a little more dynamic an app would be nice.

Y70%
by Y####:

For a free app, this is okay, but very very basic. It could use far more entries. There should be a way for users to suggest new entries to help expand the database.

Y70%
by Y####:

For a quick reference in a shop, cafe or restaurant, this covers most of the basic food (though some of it is strange to my British dietary knowledge!) And is enough to help steer a path through the choices available. Also, it is a completely clean app; it requires no access to any of your device's data at all. Refreshing!

Would be super helpful!

Y70%

Other FODMAP apps cost between $0.99-$9.00! Yet many complaints of missing foods. So for a free, no permissions app, I'm pleased with this app, thanks.

Y70%
by Y####:

This is OK, but probably needs updating or correction...some vegetables are not categorized appropriately

R70%
by R####:

Bread isn't even listed. It's a staple food ... No rice noodles either

Y70%
by Y####:

Helpful app to identify other foods to avoid. Would like more foods to be added. Maybe an update.

K70%
by K####:

Y70%

Love the fact that it has 0 permissions. Super easy to use.

P70%
by P####:

It's called simple and it is, but I find this a great tool to remind me of different product s and just double-check when I'm getting a bit vague on some ingredients or simply for ingredients that have never come up for me since my fructose malabsorption diagnosis. Would be good if there were more regular updates, but less than a year since is pretty good. Thank you.

F70%
by F####:

Too simple

R70%
by R####:

If yiu haven't got much of a basic knowledge if what is ok / not ok to eat on a low FODMAP diet, then this app is useful. However, if you already have a good working knowledge of what you can eat, then this app doesn't bring anything new to the table.
