Simple Checkbook Ledger

Upgraded from free version to paid version now it doesn't even open! Never had problems with the free version was just hoping to get rid of the adds, now I'm screwed! Hate it!

Don't use this app it will screw you in the end. I had to switch phones twice and both times it didnt upload to the cloud, even though it says it does. I checked my cloud and it had a register from the year before and not even that would reload on my new phone losing all of my finances. I emailed this app provider and like others not even a will get back with you. They don't care if their app fails or if you lose out on your finaces. I may be looking for a lawyer to sue this creator sense I payed for this app as well.

Excellent app when it's working. In the last 9 months it has locked me out of my info twice! The backup function doesn't work unless you are logged into an account, so if the app crashes when you try to log in...well, you get the picture. Will email the Dev. But, like others, I don't expect any help.

Used to love it coz its so easy and simple to use. You can create as many ledgers as you want and input data as many as you want. But after a week or so, when the app automatically updates, when you open your file, all your ledgers are gone and a message will say "LEDGER NOT FOUND MAYBE BECAUSE A BUG WAS FIXED. Both the free and the paid version did the same. I even tried to enter all my data several times. Again, after a day, ledger is not found. So it's time for me to UNINSTALL!

I used to love this app. It was so convenient to keep my finances up to date because I always have my phone on me. It was great being able to sync across devices. Then a month ago I got a new phone and it took me a week of uninstalling and reinstalling on my phone and tablet before I could get everything to sync again. I emailed the developer and never got a response. And now for the past few days, every time I try to open the app on my phone, I get an error message, "simple checkbook has stopped working."

Really like the app helps me out a bunch. But lately has been backing out when I try to sync to my Google drive. So I got a new phone went to upload and nothing is there. Very PISSED off.

This checkbook application will not properly backup my checkbook entries, each time I sync my entries with Google Drive, I try to open my saved checkbook document and get a notice telling me my document is unsupported. Correction, this app is Totally useless. Enjoy the money you made off me.

So, now I have a huge issue. I was hoping it would be easy to upload all my info, but so far it's been awful. I went from the free version to this one because I finally got tired of the ads. This app has been great to me for years. This is my one disappointment.

On the free one all my info disappeared of i didn't get i to it for 2 or 3 days. After the 2nd time didnt use for 2 days went back in and the acct and everything entered gone. So i bought the paid version thinking it would be better entered in all my stuff yet again. Didn't use it for 2 days. Went to get into again and all my entries including the account was gone. I will not enter in everything again. Would like to get my money back but i highly doubt that.

I really love this app but recently I had to get a new phone. Is there a way to sync my account info from my old phone to the new one? I'm sick if I've lost all my account activity I've entered.

The popups to Google Play were so annoying I finally just uninstalled. Once OK. But every few minutes when trying to balance checkbook, No.

Almost perfect app. Exactly like my paper ledger. Easy to use and no need to link personal info. Just a ledger. Simpler really is best. One issue: it said "connected to Google Drive." But when I got my new phone...my ledger history was all gone! Argh! Six months gone! You have to manually sync in account options. Which I didn't know/understand til now. Maybe that part could be explained better in future updates.

This app has been abandoned, so there's no point in continuing to use it, never mind purchasing it to begin with. Used to be great, but not any more.

I Google sync after each transaction, but for the last time, this app has lost a month of data and it doesn't come back when I sync back from Google. I have emailed the developer about the problem without any response.

I went to add a new automatic transaction and didnt change the year to 2016. I deleted the automatic transaction but it wouldn't delete them in the register. I went to delete them from the archived items but it wouldn't delete archived items. Now all my totals are negative. Till now it's worked great.

I love this app, though within the last month I noticed that the ledger doesn't move up when adding a new entry, you have to scroll down until you get to it. It's annoying when you're trying to see how much is in your account. Otherwise it's a great app.

...but free one stopped working. Tried to uninstall and reinstall... Still had my accounts on there but still could not use. I PD the $0.99 to get this one. Now it continues to tell me unfortunately the checkbook app has stopped, just like the free one did. The first account, i was able to use a good month and a half. I loved it until first week of Oct, it quit. 6 days later, the 99 cent one quit. I now hate it.. Unusable!!!!!!!!

I loved how simple this checkbook ledger was and how well it worked. However recently the sync to Google drive doesn't seem to always work. I accidentally clicked sync from Google drive and lost a ton of records. Unless fixed will be finding a new app!

This app will not sync between devices. I could not figure it out and I am very tech savvy. The menu interface is garbage. Hate having to put in a password every time I open it and can't change that option. I am in a hurry when I enter transactions I already have a pin on my phone. Why is a password required on a checking ledger?

I wanted a replacement for the paper ledger that I rarely take with me. With this app I found it, with one caveat. It will occasionally fail to work, losing all data. I've had to reinstall a couple of times and not count on it as being my accurate/go to ledger.

Would rate higher, but about a week after installing and setting up my accounts, I opened the app and everything was gone! No accounts or anything. It was like I had just installed the app! Really aggravating to set up everything again and try to remember what I had spent. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Note 3: I have depended on this app until just a day ago. It will not open on my Note 3. Email to dev has so far gone unanswered...vey dissatisfied customer herr. Hope a fix happens soon or will have to delete & try a different app. Anybody out there having similar problems?

Can't even get my $ back after purchasing this. Waste of time. You lose everything if you clear your cache daily and have to redo it over and over to sync from google drive. I need something that can sync across all platforms, because repeatedly doing this is driving my crazy and wasting time.

I like the check book. it works for me most of the time. Some days I forget to update my tablet vs. phone and it will freeze up, no respond. I make several attempts to update. ..I guess I attempted too many times, I don't see the activity anymore. Uninstalling.

I was using this app for many many months until it crashed on me on 9/6/15 and now it won't even boot up at all. I started off using the Free version then switched to the Paid version. I LOVED it, used it throughout the day, 'every day' but now it doesn't work "at all'. Won't even come on. I sent them a notification on the 'error' message directly from the app but have not heard back from anyone from the company so far as of today 9/8/15. I also tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. That didn't work either. Now I guess I'll have to shop for another one.

I loved the free version until the ads popped up. I have used the Free version for 9 months so I bought it to eliminate the ads

CSV import did not work as advertised and the creator has yet to answer my email even though I sent one directly to his email address as he requested for a faster response. Sent him an email on January the 3rd. I think I have given him ample time to respond. Going to ask for a refund as my bank account is important enough that I couldn't wait for his response and purchased a different app today and am happy with its functions. Thanks checkbook pro for coming through when simple checkbook failed me.

Loved the app for a long time, then in September, 3 months worth of data just disappeared. Got everything back in and back to where it should be and yesterday I lost everything back to May again! I will be deleting this app and finding something reliable!

Always hated writing in those small ledgers in paper check books after buying something. Now it's always with me. But it would be better to have a single button to sync with Google Drive instead of the 3 to get to it. Or maybe upon exit it would do it.

I enjoyed the layout of the free app, but the ads were obviously annoying and decided to buy it. Almost immediately after purchasing the app would crash and has still not worked ever since. I reported it weeks ago and haven't heard anything. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

It clears itself out all the time you can't keep up with your checkbook because it erases everything worst app ever

As a check book register it is flexible enough that mistakes can be corrected which is the heart and sole of what any set of books needs to be. You could likely make it into a one app does it all app, but I'll never use those features not in this app. This app is the root. The one that helps keep my other fiance apps on point. All in one apps blend everything together. One mistake affects everything. Used in conjunction this one either agrees or disagrees. The perfect check system.

I'm retired now and on a fixed income. This helps me know at a glance how much money I will have left after all bills are paid as I use this app to project my finances

Bought the paid for version. Synced to Google Drive, or so it said. Had to reset my device for battery reasons. Reloaded app. Tried to sync from Google Drive. Ha. It says I'm sorry. Won't recognize my password either. Has other glitches. Good idea. Just unfinished, unattended.

I love this app! Great job, it's exactly what I was looking for. I used the free version for about a week then paid. I use it every day. Thanks!

I used to love this app. I used it for a year then it stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that still didn't work. Won't even let me open the app. I purchased this one in hopes it would work but it is still crashing. If it wouldn't crash I would rate this 5 stars

Absolutely perfect app! Exactly like my paper ledger. Couldn't be more pleased. Easy to use and no need to link personal info. Just a ledger. Simpler really is best. Thank you

update 5/1/2015: GENIUS app! Got it in 2013. When Google Drive Sync feature was added, started backing up each of my 6 bank accts to Drive (takes 5 secs!) Bought a Galaxy s6 today and Simple Checkbook Ledger transferred over with all my other apps but with no data in it, because I had to download the data from my Drive acct where I'd backed it up. On Drive you can't read the data, but it's there. Before transferring read all the developer's help notes about it to ensure you won't lose data. Create IDENTICALLY named accts in your new phone's app first, then 1 by 1, highlight an acct folder on Drive, then open that acct in SCL and chose Google Drive Sync (from the Acct Options menu). Next be SURE to choose "Sync FROM Google Drive" (instead of "TO" Drive as you do when backing up data) For one acct an error message told me this acct was not on my Drive. Huh? Turns out, I had inserted a space in the acct name without realizing it. Those names need match perfectly, so copy & paste your acct. names somewhere ahead of time. I still have access to my old phone or never would have known why there was an issue. Allow 30 sec for Drive Sync to complete. Voila! Easy Peasy!

I paid for ad free but still have ads . Other than that I find this app pretty handy.
