Holo Countdown has been updated with a new look and tons of new features!
Holo Countdown is a beautiful countdown app designed to be as efficent, fluid and easy as possible while still packing loads of features. The app has been carefully designed to look good on any device, no matter if it's a tablet or a phone. With the easy-to-understand interface you'll be able to see and manage all your countdowns instantly. There's also two widgets which can be placed on your homescreen or lockscreen making it easy for you to see how many days your next event is.

With the free version you are limited to 2 countdowns at a time, no widget and no online backup.
Permissions:
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Needed to acces files in the user storage such as images. Usage is getting images that can be set for countdowns.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Needed to write files to the user storage. Usage is adding the intial two images that comes with the app.
VIBRATE - Needed for vibrating when a notification for a countdown goes off.
INTERNET - Needed to download images from Google+ when they are selected as the image for a countdown. The images appear to be saved locally but to get the full resolution image we have to download the image.
SET_ALARM - Needed to que notification at a specific time.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - Needed to check if device is connected to Wi-Fi
READ_CALENDAR - Needed to import calendar events

Love the look and functions. Was able to upgrade by going to help/about menu in free version and linking to upgrade. Been looking for a countdown timer for awhile that has years and months. This one has that and looks great.

I paid for the full version but after trying it out I was disappointed with the widgets so quickly got a refund. I also have Event Countdown Widget Full by SpecSoft on my phone and tablet and find the widget much more attractive and customisable. I was looking for something that has an alarm. With this one the picture that you set doesn't carry across to the widget, plus you're not able to have one stand alone event.

This app should be built in to all phones. My only complaint is I wish I could have an option to have it display how many weeks until the counting down event.

It shows the remaining Years, Months, Days, Hours, and Seconds...everything except the remaining Minutes, and that's what I needed more than anything.
