Lifesum: Healthy lifestyle app for Android
Great overall. However, it's a little disappointing that many of the features only come with premium. The app is excellent, regardless of whether the user has paid, or not. But, maybe some of the features might be available to non premium users. Features like measurements, for example. Or a 7 day free trial might also be great. As well as MORE motivation. Anyways, the app is great and I look forward to continue to use it.
It's a nicely designed app and has good options for different plans. It seems pretty European-centric though. I was expecting non-metric measurements in recipes when I selected USA, but I'm still seeing things like grams and milliliters. There are also sometimes (but not always) commas where one would expect decimals. I'm also disappointed at the lack of community. I didn't realize before I upgraded that there is no built-in community, but rather you have to invite people to also use the app. I'd like a built-in community to meet other people and get support through already existing users.
I love this app. It really helps me keep healthy when I'm eating, I use it more for this rather to lose weight. Yet in 3 weeks I lost a pound which is a bonus! However, I say I'm vegetarian but keeps telling me to eat more fish? I even started putting fish as am allergy in case it would help but it still comes up?
Great! But I wish there was more stuff available for a regular, not only for premium version. It helps a lot if you want to keep your food diary- as you sometimes do not really realise how much and what can you eat in a day;) I am having a standard diet, I do not want to lose weight- it simply helps me to have an overall view of my lifestyle.
Makes it much easier to stay on track with food, being able to adjust your diet fat/carbs/calorie intake to be monitored. Ill may go premium to help with my keto diet but even without it's great. Barcode scanner is super helpful!!
Really love the app, looks great and is easy to use. It would be nice if you could add recipes from websites by inputting the web address (like myfitnesspal). And I'm also having trouble adding friends (I have an Android phone)...still love the app tho
The recipes are not that great, most that I see look unappealing but for ease of tracking food, water and exercise it is awesome. The barcode scanner is not accurate a lot of the time but it does make it quick to track something and then go back and adjust later. This app is super easy I recommend it
I really like this app overall! Just think there could be a lot more receipes available, was dissapointed about the amount of vegan receipes. Also, it would be helpful if you could change your lifestyle settings. E.g. if you're vegetarian/vegan, you still get reminded of how your seafood intake is not enough, while you'll actually nevet eat it and could be perfectly healthy not doing so. Other than that, keep up the good work!
I had been using MyFitnessPal but I -hated- the interface (so ugly!) and as I'm on the 5:2 diet I regularly fast which the app doesn't allow for, prohibiting diary entries under a set number of calories. Lifesum looks great, I get super cute motivational messages throughout the day and the fruit/veg trackers have been really helpful! I'd say it's worth paying for premium if only to access their recipe base which is pretty expansive.
This app is great, really aesthetically pleasing and pleasant to use. Really helpful and not patronising or pressuring like a lot of apps. I would consider upgrading to the paid version if it was a one-off payment to upgrade but unfortunately I can't guarantee the money for a subscription. Really dislike this subscription trend in apps these days.
I enjoy this more than my fitness pal. Tells me what I'm doing well, and what I should do better. Paid for premium and I'm enjoying seeing what is good and bad about each food I eat eg: high in natural sugar, processed etc.
User Interface is nice but items in database are totally off. For example, fried egg and butter yields 0mg of cholesterol according to this app... Calories count is probably good but with incorrect information like the cholesterol issue makes one wonder what else is wrong.
Great idea but I would love an option for no calorie tracker. It's very unhealthy for my mental health to have constant temptation to track everything.
The app is very pleasant to work with, but everything is locked behind a paywall. I haven't unlocked premium yet, so I can't say if it's good or not. Premium seems to be roughly $60 if you pay for the year (on sale right now fir $25)
I like this app so far, I do wish they showed a bit more without premium membership. Also some people have other dietary restrictions besides the 4 they listed, I didn't know what to choose.
It's a nice and easy to use app for tracking food and it helps eating healthier. But: even though you can sync it with google fit and many other fitness/workout apps, exercises will not be properly tracked! I go to the gym (weight lifting) 3 times a week and attend yoga classes twice a week and lifesum scores my exercise level at ZERO because "you're not doing sports!" -- it doesn't count the exercise from the official partner apps. Even though they are shown in the diary and calculated into calories and what not. Big Downer!! That alone makes the premium account more or less worthless to me. And it simply doesn't remember my food preferences after I've set them to "vegan"! I have to constantly set the preferences back to vegan ... again and again.
It's great! I would love some more tips about food. I only have the free version of the app right now but it is something I would recommend 100%
It is ok not very good cause you can't change measurings to cm an kg and the servings are not always the same as natural and the plans are nor specific or guided spent money in vain
I like the app and want to give it give stars, but the fact that it can't sync with polar is a huge minus for me. Nothing work properly with google fit sync. I'll be using myfitnesspal until it's sorted, even while I like lifesum way more.
I like it, I just use it to track the number of carbs i eat and water I drink though. Unsure how accurate this is, whether all the food options you can pick are community-submitted so could just be someone guessing? Would be good to understand that.
Overall I like this app, but I do wish that the food data base was bigger. Also, the barcode scanner function doesn't always pull the accurate information
I gave this five stars because it is nothing short of the perfect app to keep you going. Even without premium it is extremely insightful and I love using it.
Could be vastly improved.. list of food available for calorie tracking is very less and not very accurate. Workout spending calories should be able to be customised. User interface isn't very friendly.
Amazing. Keeps you accountable for your entire diet and keeps you tracking your weight and measurements. Been shredding for 2 months and making awesome progress. Only suggestion is to give us free users a little more features!
This app has changed my life. It allows you the luxury of adapting to eating pretty much anything and track it and stay on track with your goals.
I really love this app! Thanks to Lifesum I've lost 7 kg in the healthy way! I like the new feature of rating the food from A to E as it's easier to see what is good for you and what you should avoid. The visual side of the app is really nice and clear. Definitely 5 stars.
Best app to lose weight. I lost 4 kgs in 25 days without exercise by following the calories counter thumbs up and thank you
This app has been extremely helpful in tracking what I'm eating, how much I'm eating and if I'm on track. I really like the water reminders; I've been drinking more water which makes me feel better. Currently using the app to help lose weight.
The only issue I've had is with the 'friends' tab, it tends to repeat what people have posted
I really do love this app, but I think that there could be a few more diet options for non-premium members.
Easy to use, syncs with other tools such as withings scales and fitbit, great gui. Been using since beta and they keep making it better with intelligent improvements that reflect usage.
very good app for gym goers. tho the offerings of the payed version kinda lacking in features. only couple foods or dishes to consider.
I got the premium on sale and figured I'd give it a try. Wish I could change the measurements system. But I do love connecting with a fitness app and the reminders for drinking water!
Suggestion for features: - Create recipe/meal out of all ingredients you logged for e.g. lunch. It's tedious having to create a new meal/recipe with all ingredients every time you made a slight variation to a dish. - Also, when you create a meal/recipe there should be a feature saving your progress of creating it as a draft. Sort of when you pause in the writing of an email. Sometimes I accidentally click out of the app which discards every ingredient I've put in. - When you select a meal/recipe you've created for breakfast, lunch, dinner etc., you should have the option to remove or add any ingredients to that specific meal, just for the instance you are adding right there. The prompt could be: "Change any ingredients in this dish for this meal?" And then you could add or remove something to the meal/recipe if you e.g. made the dish without carrots but with an extra onion this time.
Great app. Lovely interface, many useful features and a ever-growing database of scannable foods, even in the Netherlands. Many different plans, reminders for water and, something that's very important to me, explanations as to why you have to eat some things and avoid others. I'm very grateful i ran into Lifesum.
A lot of name brands aren't provided, but a lot are. I like to guesstimate and choose the closest macros so I won't have to write everything in manually
Man kann viele Funktionen leider nur mit kostenpflichtigem upgrade nutzen. Lebensmittel sind schwer zu finden.
Very detailed for keeping track of your health.
Loved it

I really like this app. It makes it really easy to keep track of your habits and also gives great advice on how to improve. What I would like to see is more break down of the nutrients I am getting on a daily basis...kinda like the Cron o meter app. Also, it would be nice if it's recommendations for meals were better. As a Vegan they still suggest meat based meals and also as someone who is allergic to nuts...some meal suggestions have nuts. My profile states I am vegan and have a few allergies...so it should be smart about that. Keep up the good work.
