About Silent Hours

Android 5.0/5.1 Lollipop users: This app should fully silence your device, unlike the built in priority mode that Google replaced the normal silent mode with. However, with every manufacturer implementing the new volume/notification modes differently, the app might not work correctly on devices with 5.0 and above.

Are you tired of waking up in the middle of the night because you got a new text message or phone call?
Silent Hours will mute the audio on your device every day during the periods you set.

Additional options for when sound is muted:
- Mute games, music etc.
- Enable vibration
- Lock the volume to muted, to avoid accidental changes
- Lower brightness to desired level (saves previous level)
- Disable the notification light
- Unmute the sound on incoming call. The sound will be muted again when the call is ended

You can also choose to mute games and music, as well as to enable vibration.
The service keeps running even if you reboot your device.

You can also set a quick mute period, for unscheduled events.

Please note that if you set audio to be muted or reenabled before the current time, this will be done at the time you set, the next day.

Sleep tight!

I think it's an app that does exactly what it advertised.... And personally... I'm loving' it. Maybe more flexible seconds in the timing settings could be added? For example instead of 12:30-12:35, we could have the option of 12:30-12:31 or 32 or 33 (a lot can happen in a minute). So what say you, dev! Wanna earn my last star?

I attend High School and this silences and turns off silence exactly when I want it to. It can even be set to vibrate. It also has auto brightness settings for night and auto notification LED'S schedule. If I want it off for a break, it's as simple as unchecking service running. Great app all around!

I used to set this to have vibrate only mode during work hours. Worked fairly well, but if I went in later and turned on my phone after the start time (7:00 am), then I had to remember to set to vibrate manually. Now that I've upgraded to marshmallow, it doesn't work at all.

Used this for over a year with my Galaxy S3 w/KitKat, worked like a charm. Sadly doesn't seem to be working properly since upgrading to Galaxy S7 with Marshmallow. Sound doesn't unmute when a time period is over and some scheduled silent hours failed to trigger. Too bad, hopefully will be fixed soon.

This app didn't disable the battery charging light, which it may or may not even be capable of but thought it might since it has an option to disable the LED notification. Setup is a bit tedious with the small buttons, inability to type the time and it only allows military time. This and since one of the two features I was looking for didn't work, I'll stick with Silent Sleep. Samsung GS3, rooted stock.

I use this so I don't need to manually silence my phone when I go to sleep and manually turn up the ringer when I wake up. It would be a perfect replacement for Moto assist if it sorted silencing during meetings and the option for anyone to "break through" the silence by calling twice within a few minutes.

I've tried several apps to auto silence my phone for work hours, and this one is the only one that worked flawlessly. EDIT: App now appears to be broken.

This was the best and easiest app for its purpose when I was on lollipop. Since upgrading to marshmallow, it does not seem to be able to turn off the silent times.

Y70%

Disappointed that this app does not have an exceptions option to allow certain specified callers to come through. Also wish it would have an option which allows Sms. Will reinstall if and when this option comes on board.

Since I updated the software on my phone the apps not working anymore, was working great until the update, will 5 star again when it works

It won't work on both of my phones (SG GT-i9505 running android 7.1.2 and Lenovo 5k running android 5.02) Activates silent mode, but doesn't deactivated it on next day.

Needs a widget for quick mute. Would also love a mode for turning phone back on not just making sure it's off

Worked great on my s5, now I've got an s7 doesn't want to work.... Really value the app so would be great if you can fix it. I'll have to look for another one if not...

Y70%

I disabled the led notification and still got a bright blinking light during the night

Adds back the functionaility that Samsung should have included in the first place on the Galaxy S5 running Lollipop, great app

Newer Android versions seem to kill this sort of background process after a few hours.

Love this for work, I constantly forget to un-mute after work and get home to find out I had to pick up something or someone. Saves gas also. ;)

Oxygen OS's Android 5.0... Getting notification sounds during silent hours. :-(

Still get phone calls

S70%

Works well, but there is no way to control the volume that your phone returns to after it becomes unsilenced.

Y70%
by Y####:

Works like a charm easy to configure. One suggestion would be to let the mute button in first page toggle it's color.

Since upgrading to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow this product no longer functions as expected. Even after uninstall and re-install.

J70%

Not sure what the options do. If I don't set options does it mute the phone? That appears to be how it works. If I toggle vibration I'll get a buzz to notify me of a missed call. There is no explanation for the toggles. What does brightness, lock, media, unmute and light do? The app appears to be well featured and it seems to automatically turn my ringer off at night, which is want, so a star for that, and a star for being full featured, but that's it. With everything else being a mystery that I have to figure out with trial and error, this app comes with built in frustration. A simple explanation of that the toggles do would probably make this app five stars.

Hoping this app will work as silence use to but then i upgraded to 5.0 lollypop and it no longer does.... fingers crossed :)

After upgrading to 5.1.1 simply clear the cache and data then set the hours you want silent. Worked like a charm, good luck.
