About MICkey
Mickey is a tool aimed to help all physicians prescriging antibiotics, and using as support the indications of a modern test of sensitivity to antimicrobial molecules, commonly known as susceptibility test.
The information provided by this test result in an indication of the likely effectiveness of the tested antibiotics (S:effective, I:uncertain efficacy, R: not effective) and the degree of vulnerability of the germ identified in each antibiotic marked with S. In order to quantify it, it is used a parameter called MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration).
For each antibiotic indicated, together with the inclusion of its MIC, Mickey will identify the relative value of BreakPoint sensitivity, as published and validated by the EUCAST database (www.eucast.org).
The calculation of the ratio BreakPoint/MIC will produce the results placed in descending order, with the indication of the antibiotic most effective, based on the highest value of that ratio.
Mickey is an application that can be annually subscribed at the price of € 12,00, always up to date and constantly linked with the data published and validated by EUCAST.
