1. Can I use a different password for important files ? Yes, by default files are protected by the login PIN. You can apply a secondary password to individual files for additional security. Just long click on the file and select "Use password override".
2. What happens if I forget my password ? If you forget your password, there is NO way to retrieve it. This is for your protection. If the password could be retrieved, then Secure Notes would not be secure. There are many notepad apps on the Android market that provide a recovery feature that unlock by answering a secondary security question. These products are NOT secure since they have a backdoor around the original password.

Downloaded the app and it Immediately asks me for a pin number despite me never having set one, or even entered the asp for that matter. Tried every default factory number I can think of, uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. So promising and yet so disappointing.

I like that you can keep documents and photos secure in the same app. It works with dropbox and it even allows you to take pictures from inside the app using other photo apps to enhance them. Unfortunately this is only a 45 day trial and the upgrade is a bit pricey.

Works great and is well presented, I feel much safer now that my personal data is secured and encrypted. I would love to see a toggle widget for encrypting/decrypting specific files or folders so they can be accessed via other apps easily.

The app itself is basically termed a "vault" that encrypts files using NIST standard AES-256 encryption. The vault has its own folder structure which you can amend as you wish by creating additional folders. The vault allows the creation of notes (using the apps combined notepad) photos using your devices camera and voice recordings using your device. Additionally files can be selected by browsing your devices folders, with a file either being copied to the vault or a link to save space. The encrypted file can then be encrypted and saved within the vault or elsewhere on the device. The encrypted file has the suffix .enc and a further option is given to add a further password to individual files. The app is compatible with cloud storage where files can be either imported or exported in either an unencrypted or encrypted state. Encrypted files can only be opened through the app after logging into it successfully and entering any individual password that you may have set. A full encrypted backup an restore of the vault can be carried out. A quick start doc makes this app easy to use. All functionality worked correctly without error and I would recommend this app.

This is a very well built app. The integration between the app and other apps is flawless. It is also very simple to navigate through encrypted files. The most impressive part is the easy to understand "user manual." The developer really took the time to write it out in basic English that anyone can follow. One downside is there is no lock out feature to logging in with the PIN. Someone could keep trying to guess.

Personally I live alone and am not worried about someone looking at my phone..but for someone that has a lot of information that needs to be organized, it is very useful. The icons are very clear and precise. Is fun..and quite easy to use.

I must say that it works as advertised in a sort of way as it carefully store your secret pictures and files. That being said, I realized that pressing back button does triggered the lock notification. But if the phone is left to auto sleep, once unlocked and opening the app does not requires password? This is a security breach!

It's good that I always can have all important and sensitive informations with me and that they are safe thanks to the app. I like the design, it doesn't look cheap and match to the app. As well the layout is great and well-arranged. But it would be nice if you can add pictues directly from the gallery because it's faster than using the file browser (Well, I have many pictures...).
