SE Mobile Viewer seems to be a great app. Unfortunately, I'm unable to view any of my par/sev from email, download, or Dropbox. The app says that my part/drawing is there, but its not. Please provide any solutions to my problem. Thanks.

I use ST6 and Dropbox. I would like to collaborate with colleagues on drawings, but no success. Am I to assume that I can only view .sev extensions and not .par, .asm, etc? If so, how is this even associated with Solid Edge?

Also there is no markup possiblity, no measurement. The feature which is most missed in this release is ability to view the Solid Edge files in their native format. I have to export to SEV and then view it. Its already hard to keep the SEV file updated.

Nothing more need be said. Well, if you read the TOS it says they can load spyware even though that is not listed in the permissions. What do you expect from Siemens though.

About as good as taking a camera shoot of your Solid Edge screen and then looking at it in paint brush. What good is this quadriplegia of a cad file viewer with no functions?

The app works, but there is no Part+Draft for all the displayed items, and hope you will add Assembly...

Needs tools to pull distances, or add markups to drafts or models in order to be of more value than just bringing a collection of prints along with you. Not very intuitive for how to get files to open from Drop Box or Google Drive, but once you figure it out, it works seamlessly.

Could include local file management folder, more settings to save to ".sev" from app using part or assembly files. Provides most basic viewing functionality and works decent with decent gesture control.

I love this app for showing potential customers my capabilities. Nothing beats the 3D models for someone to understand what you can do, instead of an image. I agree with many previous reviews for future functions. I had to install it on a tablet, and extract the APK to install it on my Samsung Galaxy S3. It works flawless, but is limited. Would be nice to allow files into another folder of choice on SD card and not only internal SD Documents folder.

What version of Solid Edge files will this work with? I am currently on ST3 and I have not been able to find a way to open my files. Will this open .STP / .IGS or other 3d files or only Solid Edge files? I think this could have potential, unfortunately I should not rate this but I have to in order to hit the submit button.

To start with I'm really glad to see this app, and glad that it's free. Everything seems very fluid when viewing and exploring SolidEdge CAD files. That being said, it still needs some basic work. You can't navigate to open files from within the program (at least not that I have found) and it won't open files through 3rd party file explorers (e.g. File Manager HD). I was finally able to open a drawing of mine by browsing through Android's file browser. Also the "?" button that gives some help is a good idea, but I don't think it's terribly clear. Also I'm not terribly sure what the point of being able to change the color of everything is. It's not really a good system (you need a confirm button not just tapping off the pop-up) and I just honestly don't think it's a necessary feature. Some future features I'd like to see is the possibility of showing dimensions, similar to the "Smart Measure" features available in SolidEdge. All said in done good start, but improvement is needed. Archos 80 G9 running ICS.
