SIC Porto Pino

Il Sito d’Interesse Comunitario “Promontorio, dune e zona umida di Porto Pino” (SIC ITB040025) si colloca nella provincia di Carbonia Iglesias, nella Sardegna sud-occidentale. Si estende per una superficie di 2.697 ettari (il 18% dei quali sull’area marina) ricadenti nei comuni di Sant’Anna Arresi, Teulada e Masainas.
L’area SIC è stata istituita ai sensi della Direttiva 92/43/CEE del 21 maggio 1992 con lo scopo di contribuire a salvaguardare le biodiversità, mediante la conservazione degli habitat naturali, nonché la flora e la fauna selvatiche del territorio. Attraverso questa direttiva, l’Unione Europea individua gli habitat e le specie animali e vegetali da proteggere, delimita le aree per la conservazione (zone SIC e ZPS) e definisce le regole di tutela. L’area rientra anche nella RETE NATURA 2000 e nella più vasta area del Piano Paesaggistico regionale Ambito n. 5 denominata “Anfiteatro del Sulcis”.
L'intera area costiera del SIC è delimitata a Nord dalle sponde dello Stagno di Baiocco e dal Canale dell'Acqua Dolce, a Sud dall'ultimo tratto, verso il mare, del Riu de S'Arena. Il SIC comprende due sistemi costieri contigui: il sistema costiero di Porto Pineddu e il sistema costiero di Porto Pino. Il primo è compreso tra il settore costiero di Porto Botte a nord e quello di Porto Pino a sud. Il sistema costiero di Porto Pino, invece, comprende un articolato sistema che si estende dal promontorio di Porto Pino fino a Punta di Cala Piombo e si caratterizza da un'ampia falcata sabbiosa limitata e da tratti di costa prevalentemente rocciosa. L'ecologia è costituita dal complesso degli stagni di Porto Pino (Stagno di Maestrale, Stagno de Is Brebeis, Stagno Spiaggia di Porto Pino, Stagno de Foxi e Stagno del Corvo) e dalla retrostante superficie che si raccorda a est con il complesso collinare-montuoso di Sant'Anna Arresi. The Site of Community "Promontory, dunes and wetland of Porto Pino" (SIC ITB040025) is placed in the province of Carbonia Iglesias, in southwestern Sardinia. It covers a surface of 2,697 hectares (18% of which the Marine) falling in the municipalities of Sant'Anna Arresi, Teulada and Masainas.
The SCI was established under Directive 92/43 / EEC of 21 May 1992 in order to help safeguard biodiversity through the conservation of natural habitats and flora and fauna of the area. Through this directive, the European Union identifies habitats and animal and plant species to be protected, defines areas for conservation (SCI and SPA areas) and defines the rules of protection. The area also falls in the NATURA 2000 network and in the wider area of ​​the Landscape Plan Regional Scope n. 5 on "An fi theater Sulcis".
The entire coastal area of ​​the SIC is bounded on the north by the banks of the pond Baiocco and the Sweet Water Canal, on the south by the last stretch towards the sea, the Riu de S'Arena. The SIC includes two contiguous coastal systems: the coastal system of Porto Pineddu and the coastal system of Porto Pino. The first is between the coastal area of ​​Porto Botte in the north and south of Porto Pino. The coastal system of Porto Pino, however, includes a detailed system that extends from the promontory of Porto Pino to Punta Cala Lead and is characterized by wide sandy stride limited and mainly rocky stretches of coast. Ecology is comprised all the ponds of Porto Pino (Mistral Pond, Pond de Is Brebeis, Pond beach of Porto Pino, Tin and Tin Foxi de Raven) and the rear surface which connects east with the complex collinare- range of Sant'Anna Arresi.
