IT WAS AWESOME!!! Ever since your update on 1/10, I cannot log into my account on my phone, and or tablet the apps there and it takes me to the selection I select direct tv...and it just sits there. If i select an off the wall cable company well, the log in screen for them comes right up!!!! and my computer is saying it needs Java enebled WHEN IT IS!!!! HBO GO AND starz work on all devices.. FIX this back to the previous version, I will take showtime off of my dtv account if not fixed soon.
Watched Shameless seasons 1-6 on Netflix recently and I noticed season 7 just aired. Thought I would try this app out to watch it since Netflix probably won't get the series for quite a while but it looks like I'll just have to wait. The audio is terrible compared to Netflix or even HBOGO. Even playing the sound through my phone speakers I could notice a sharp difference and this contrast was just magnified once I used my headphones.
Dumb that I can't activate this app on my Amazon Fire TV through the app or at least from my phones internet connection. You make us activate through a PC which I don't have with me. Also dumb that I need this app to activate on my Roku. And for a third time it's dumb that I need to activate the app every month. You ruin the experience. It's not worth the aggravation. I'm done with this app.
Horrible, tried everything suggested on their help center to set it up, nothing works. It says to log in and click first time user...doesn't work. It says to do many things, nothing works. I assume since I already pay for it through cable, they don't make it a priority to get those users on. They make it very easy for new subscribers since the screen to enter a credit card is easily attainable and I keep being routed there. Definitely looking to make money off of new subscribers instead of helping current ones.
So many problems since the last update. Chromecast hardly works. Can't pause a show without having to exit and re-enter. Horrible since last update. Roll back the update or let people downgrade without being prompted to update to this garbage version
Unable to activate the Showtime app on my Xbox because I'm not able to login in to my provider (DirecTV) to enter the code. Every other provider's (DISH, Verizon, Cox, etc.) login page loaded up with no problem except DirecTV. This is the second time this has happen even after uninstalling and re-installing the app. Never have issues with HBO, STARZ and even FXNOW.
I have Time Warner Cable & superfast internet connection speed, but even at home, your app buffers & freezes. I have HBO GO, Hulu Netflix and FX on my tablet & those apps work great, so it is not my internet connection or my tablet, but your lousy app. Also, on Sundays when new episodes of Homeland and The Affair are released, your servers cannot handle the bandwidth of all the internet viewers logging on to watch the shows. The app buffers and then just fails. Horrible expensive service. U SUCK, VIACOM!
I don't actually know if this app is any good or not bc when I select Directv as my provider, so I can log in and use the app, it doesn't do anything. Just sits there with a blank screen.
Just because u probably make less money on tv provider subscribers...you don't add Chromecast functionality to the app. That's petty and low. FIXED. It has Chromecast *** works great
I never wanted the app in the first place. I just wanted to activate showtime anyone on my Amazon fire stick. Congrats on making the most cumbersome activation process yet.
app needs a update lags complely out 30 minutes into any movie being viewed. It wouldnt hurt looking into HBO GO app and learning how to build a premium pay channel app for your customers....
Won't let me log into my provider. It just takes me to a blank screen. Please advise. UPDATE : I figured out the problem after Showtime support never responded even after I gave them the info they asked me for...anyway, for Android devices, you need to make sure you have the latest updated version of Android System WebView...it's an app that allows internet content to show up within an app, in this case, the sign-in page for your TV provider...mine was AT&T Uverse. You can access Android System WebView in Google Play if you don't already have it...I had not updated it to the latest version.
Is this a real Showtime App? I don't trust this app. It took my information and then doesn't work. Despite uninstall and reinstall. Don't try to trouble shoot my matter, I don't really care.
Great content, mediocre app. Unintuitive, cumbersome, and super buggy. Needs to be better all around.
Horrible user experience. Just try catching up on a series. Watch one episode then it doesn't let you go to the next one, you have to exit, go back to the series, find which season, scroll to the episode then watch. Rinse and repeat. Randomly it will force you to reauthorize using your phone or computer. But I don't keep the app on my phone cause it's a waste of space, so I have to download again, authorize on my cable again.........
This app irritates me! It freezes up when I click the app, if I do manage to click the app the video opens up extremely pixelated, and I can rarely move to the next episode without it once again, locking and freezing up. Very Frustrating!
Well finally something works and worth downloading. It actually worked with my subscription to dtv. Dtv itself would not work. How about that.
This app might be great but I have no way of knowing since it won't let me activate any devices or log in, just pulling up a blank screen. Apparently lots of other people are having this problem too, so it's a shame Showtime doesn't really seem to be fixing the problem.
Freezes 100% of the time after choosing cable provider...app is useless on my Samsung Tab 4
Thank you for targeting Android Nougat API levels. Even if nothing substantial changes, I appreciate knowing that Showtime cares enough for the Android app to support the latest code and standards!

Great app. Love the Showtime content. Would love to see slightly newer movies, but seem to be curated well. Must see originals and can't miss series. My fave. Homeland, The Affair, and Ray Donavan. Gives access anywhere and I use this along with HBO app everyday. This one trumps the app from HBO in speed and connectivity.
The Time Warner/Spectrum API login stop working. It just shows a blank screen.
Poor design!!!! Why would the "disconnect from Chromecast" button take up the entire bottom section of the screen which is right next to where the home button is located on most phones. I accidently press it all the time.
Resolution keeps enhancing but goes back to bad. In and out. Needs a setting to keep it at high
So Annoying!!!! If your watching one movie via casting and try to stop that movie and select another, app freezes and requires you to force close!
It worked once upon a time where I could activate using direct tv but now the login page for it doesn't even load.

Love the app. Fluent and organized. Absolutely love that you can stream showtime live. Big plus. One major downfall of showtime Is the audio qualiity. They are the only mainstream streaming service that does not provide 5.1 audio. Showtime needs to get with the times. Netflix, hbo, Hulu, Amazon prime video, all provide 5.1 audio.
