About ShowGuider FH Demo
Up to now, event apps have failed to provide the most basic of functions: positioning and informing the visitor. Our system is built on complex algorithms that not only locate the user, but provide a platform for location-based services, with immersive 3D venue modeling instead of 2D floor plans. Visitors are guided to booths in a natural fashion, using routing waypoints – there’s no need to constantly look down at the screen.
Indoor navigation
The MapUme positioning system can run using our cloud-based system (Nicore) or untethered, running independently on the device. The system took first place in the ‘infrastructure-free” category at the International Indoor Positioning Competition in April 2014, organized by Microsoft at IPSN Berlin.
Our state-of-the-art Wi-Fi-based solution is available now, and continuous localization using BLE 4.0 beacons (iBeacons) will be demonstrated in July 2014. We also have seamless outdoor GPS integration for outdoor events such as garden and agricultural shows. Of course, iBeacon proximity messaging is also supported.
Future-proofed: The algorithms behind the system can be readily adapted to future technologies, for example it has already been tested with LTE femtocells, UWB and inertial sensors.
3D venue modeling
Designed from the ground up for revenue generation, the app’s main screen is the fast and smooth 3D map, with ample opportunities for sponsorship and “enhanced presence” exhibitor packages. The tools to build venue/show maps have been developed in-house.
Sophisticated back-end processing (Nicore) for unique features, analytics:
Organizers can message visitors collectively or individually.
Visitors, exhibitors and organizers can locate and message other members of their team.
When connected to a remote server, functions such as targeted messaging and data analytics are possible.
Business model designed for excellent ROI
Indoor navigation allows many new possibilities for revenue generation. Instead of ad banners that take up valuable screen space, targeted announcements can be made to users in specific locations.
3D mapping allows non-intrusive advertising opportunities. For example, exhibitor booths can be skinned with their brand logos.
Exhibitors can update their news using a simple web interface.
Integrated iBeacon capabilities allow proximity messages to be sent to nearby visitors.
Unique one-touch menu system
A unique one-touch ‘Star Menu’ means all functions and data are instantly accessible. Conventional menu schemes with multiple layers can be time-consuming. With the Star Menu, visitors can instantly call up their daily schedule, exhibitor information, favorite events/exhibitors etc with a single ‘touch and slide’ action.
