দুর্গা পরিবার

দুর্গা মূলত শক্তির দেবী। কখনও তিনি মহামায়া, কখনও বা উমা। কখনও আবার মহিষাসুরমর্দিনী। এমনই বহু নামে মর্তে পূজিত হন দেবী দুর্গা। শক্তির আধার দেবী দুর্গাকে আরাধনার মাধ্যমেই প্রতিবছর শারদীয়া উৎসবে মেতে ওঠে বাঙালি।

মৃণ্ময়ীর পূজা থেকে পেটপূজা, আলোর রোশনাই, বাহারি পোশাক কোনটারই কমতি থাকে না চারদিনের সর্বজনীন এই উৎসবে। আর এই উৎসব ঘিরে রয়েছে নানা মতবাদ নানা মতামত।

দেবীর দুর্গার শুরু কোথায়? দেবীর ইতিহাস কি? সেই প্রাচীন যুগে দেবীর concept-টা এলো কোথা থেকে? এসব প্রশ্নের উত্তর খুঁজে পাওয়া অত্যন্ত কঠিন। দেবী দুর্গার ঘটনা সবচেয়ে বিশদ ভাবে লেখা মার্কণ্ডেয় পুরাণের ‘দেবী-মাহাত্ম্যে’ (যাকে শ্রীশ্রী চণ্ডী বলা হয়)। অন্য সব পুরাণে দেবীকে পাওয়া যায় অন্যভাবে!

তবে দুর্গা—এই নামটি শুনলেই আমাদের চোখের সামনে ভেসে ওঠে একটা দেবীমূর্তি। তার দশ হাতে দশ রকম অস্ত্র, এক পা সিংহের পিঠে, এক পা অসুরের কাঁধে। তাকে ঘিরে থাকেন গণেশ, লক্ষ্মী, সরস্বতী আর কার্তিক ঠাকুর।

যারা সেকেলে কেতায় ঠাকুর বানান, তাদের ঠাকুরের পিছনে চালচিত্রে আরও নানারকম ঠাকুরদেবতার ছবিও আঁকা থাকে। আর যাঁরা আধুনিক, তারা প্রতিমার মাথার উপর একখানা ক্যালেন্ডারের শিবঠাকুর ঝুলিয়ে রাখেন। মোটামুটি এই মূর্তি বছর বছর দেখে আমরা অভ্যস্ত।
