Shopify POS — Point of Sale

What it does it does well. Efficient interface and robust. However, it's got a serious drawback for non USA customers as it's not compatible with Shopify credit/debit card reader. Also, it's not compatible with Shopify barcode scanners as these work only with the iOS app.

The only drawback was it wouldn't let me take shipping addresses but now they have added that. Kudos!

Terrible. I got the ap, and started using it took a lot of credit cards. The day before my last day of free trial period, I got two of my payments in my account. All of a sudden my account was on hold, and my money being held. I called customer service they stated then that they needed a voided check, and id. I send it in then wait they still don't release my money almost 125.00. Customer service is no help. Mind you they already gave me two payments, so I'm confused. I call a third time and speak to Michelle she is clueless and absolutely no help. And tells me if they don't release the money to me they will send it back to the customer. I have a small carryout and the customers have already received their goods so sending money back to them is not an option. I ask to speak to a supervisor and an told they do not speak to. Customers, they will email of neccessary. So mad not not sure what else to do. I am a small company and them keeping my payments not good. Very shady company UPDATE AS of today 1-19-18 I keep calling the customer service. Jason yesterday tells me to keep on touch with him and he assured me on the phone I would get a resolution. I get an email from Charlie last night that stares they need my drivers license again to process everything. So I again send it in, and get an email from Jason this morning stating not to contact him again but contact Charlie. SMH the company is holding 200.00 dollars in money from my sales and is giving me the run around to get it. And this is the trial period. They tell me if you pick a plan you wouldn't be going through this. If I'm getting this kind of run around durning the free trial, how am I supposed to chose a plan and believe that I would get my money. Terrible. And the customer service is nothing to brag about Update---------- As of 1-22-18 still no money. Just emailed customer service and told them I will be contacting my attorney. They wanted a copy of my business license which I provided. This is getting ridiculas. They should be no reason why after all I submitted that I can't get my deposits. And they still are requesting I chose a plan SMDH.

I would rate this 5 stars if they added the function of adding customer info such as Shipping address (which is REQUIRED to know!) in the Android version of the app. I'm surprised they're not appealing to the Android market when Android has a CLEAR majority marketshare. Give us the proper functions! It's not hard, even I could code that in for you...

I use the POS app to take orders over the phone on the go. Currently I have to process the order/card payment then go onto the phone's web browser, pull up the order and add the customers shipping information. Please allow us to add a full customer profile including shipping address from the app. Right now the app assumes you are doing a hand to hand transaction. The extra steps do get the job done but there is no reason it can't all be done from the app right after payment completion.

It won't even open. I have tried to use this app at events and have had to use square instead. Why? Because it crashes. Now my inventory count is off.

Just tried this today but I quickly noticed that not all of the products from my shopify store are synced to this app. Any fixes?

Ever since the last update, the POS search system is terrible. You have to type the item name exactly as is with all the commas and spaces. Before you used to be able to search by typing two separate words. Good thing is it integrates your shopify inventory really well.

Need to be able to view customer details from the order details screen. At the moment you can only see the name.

It's not tablet enabled and is missing tons of features relative to iPad.

Cannot add customer address when creating a new customer in Android version. Need shipping address to send merchandise. Useless!

Useless with my Android phone! I was very embarrassed this past weekend at an outdoor vendor event, when every card I swiped/ keyed manually was declined, very bad for business. I never had a problem with my PayPal POS. Talked to a GURU & he actually acted like he didn't know what the problem was, having me go through all the troubleshooting tasks. Seriously.... Get it together!

Great app with one problem. Come on Shopify get your UK card reader to work on android instead of just Apple.

Newest update adds online products into the pos app making product selection confusing. Products marked online only shouldn't show up in the pos app.

Extremely poor android pos app, can't believe it's the same shopify team behind! Extremely slow with 15000 products, too many crashes often.

Handy app, but the android version still shows products I've hidden from POS on the main site, making it cumbersome to find the few items for sale on site.

After update it keeps crashing on Samsung S8+

My previous issue was quickly resolved. I'm highly satisfied with this app

Authorization option -without capture- should be integrated for refundable security deposits. Charging outright and refunding later increases refund rate which is not optimal.

I love it. Made my store so much more easy to check out and keep inventory tracked

Lacks features in android.

Why no barcode scanning capabilities? Only good for businesses that have maybe 10-20 skus... if not, you'll be flicking and scrolling or trying to text an item name all day long. Very inefficient. Please do not call yourself a POS system. If you're looking for scanning .. this doesn't have it...move on. If you want a draconian system you're better suited to get a cash register...

Only supports Shopify Payments

SHOPIFY is the best thing happening right now for my small business! I've tried another System and I ndefinitely prefer Shopify over it. Quick and easy transactions, Reasonable Monthly, Online Website, everything needed. I love it!

I had trouble with this at first (kept getting a network error) but I got immediate, effective tech support and its working smoothly now.

Really poor application for small business owners. I don't believe having an Android phone should be a detriment to getting the job done. Especially given just about every similar mobile pos service has managed to provide good, robust apps. Seriously disappointed with my decision in choosing Shopify as an overall platform for web and mobile sales.

Android version does not recall existing customers from database and has been confirmed with a Shopify Guru via chat. Kinda useless without this feature imo when return customer is main source of your business. Reading previous reviews looks like I am not the only one. Shopify is awesome but this app just doesn't make the cut.

Went to use this at my first outdoor market. Shopify POS is right. Attempted several sales that would not work at all. Very bad for business. Apparently if you want it to work you have to enable it as a non integrates device - why would I buy a shopify specific device if it isn't even integrated with shopify's own software? Meanwhile I went to chat with other vendors using square and was told "I've never had a single problem." I'm extremely disappointed.

Really useful app. I have only used it for cash sales so far. Would have given it 5* if I could see a summary of each products sold per month/period
