ShimmerCapture for Android
I don't understand why the sensors cannot connect ( I've used 3 different ones so far). The sensors work fine with the PC software, and the pairing is done on the phone too,but no luck with the app so far. The sensors are Shimmer 2r.
I don't like that the app keeps crashing. I also don't like Shimmer's closed ecosystem. It makes it harder for researchers to get their work done. I found an app that could have worked for logging phone data and Shimmer data simultaneously (perhaps better than ShimmerCapture) but they had to stop that service because Shimmer did not want to partner with them.
Updated rating, the application as of 0.5 is now recording the data correctly. This is a great improvement. To improve further some other changes should be made. 1. An always on screen button that will Start/Stop steaming, why fuss with the menus for this. 2. Have the data write into the same columns each time, at the moment they keep going into random columns. 3. Application crashes when the "Enable Sensors" option is selected. Fix this. (Tested on both a Nexus 7 and Galaxy S5)
It failed to save to file. It only saved a header. The developer fixed it fast. Data logging is working now, thanks. Now the app has great value for me. Please consider to: 1. Put stream, save to file and stop directly in the main screen 2. Allow to save only calibrated data, the raw data just double the file size 3. Save file per sensor 4. zip the results and auto send in e-mail Do that and I give you 5 stars +1 Save data from the mobile synced to the shimmer sensors (GPS, camera, sound etc..) this will be super! Do this one and I am willing to pay good $$$ to get it (in app purchase?) All the best, Lev
Great app, very intuitive. Deserves 5 stars when logging and streaming for the new LogAndStream FW is added.
Nice app, easy to use!

No issues in connectivity. However, write to file is being saved in .dat extension. Please make it .csv format as in desktop version. Otherwise provide option to change file extension per user requirements. Also readings are off somewhat. Same sensor ( heartrate) is giving different values in desktop and android version before stabilizing. For example in desktop version -1 is read before stable values. Here it keeps fluctuating between -60 and positive values.
