Raglanify: Knitting Sweater for Android
It's not possible to enter chest measurements. Thus resulting in a pattern unusable by someone with larger than average boobs. That kinda sucks....
I like the app since I like creating my own knitting. I'd like some more options for the measurements, eg a chest measurement. Also it would be great to be able to save the patterns on the app. I have no need to print them, but I would like to save the patterns I've used and emailing them to myself just doesn't do it.
I'm using this app for the first time and I'm a bit nervous about how this is going to work. I'm not an experienced sweater knitter, so hope I can spot problems before it is a lost cause. Exactly why I wanted to try top down, raglan pattern. But to start off, there isn't a chest measurement to enter and there is a glitch that does not allow me to enter the number 7 into any field, it kicks me out of the app.
I'm pretty familiar with seamless, top down sweaters (and bottom up, too for that matter), but I wanted a way to quickly plug in my gauge without always having to do the math myself - helpful when I'm on the road, especially. Unfortunately, there's no way to put in chest measurement - there isn't even a field / option to do so! I plugged in all my measurements & my gauge info, and with my 34" waist, it gave me a 32" finished chest size - about 6-8" smaller than what I'd want. The neck opening (I started with a boatneck) was a full inch too small - with the program's measurements, I could barely get it over my head. all in all, it means way too many tweaks - the program doesn't even work as a starting point. No computer program is going to be able to give you complete instructions 100%, but not even getting a chest measurement is ridiculous.
I like this app a lot! The only improvement I would suggest is allow the user to enter data from the ball band so the pattern can also specify how many balls of yarn to buy.
I bought this because I have difficult measurements and things rarely fit well. This program does allow measurements but doesn't really help to fit a jumper if you have unusual proportions. The only body measurements are waist, length and ease - no way to shape for bust without adding ease to the back too.
I like this app very much. It needs a basic tutorial to explain adding bust, hip or bicep shaping. I generate multiple patterns, then manually merge them together.
Never was able to enter chest, correct sleeve or wrist measurements. Also unable to locate support contact for assistance.
Did not give info on how many stitches to even start with. Cast on all letters, and no words to tell you how many stitches to start with..
Still waiting for the promised upgrades.

I love this! Compared it to a written pattern and it was right on!
Thank you! This app is really well done and has a nice UI. So nice to have this on my tablet, at my fingertips wherever I knit! Keep up the good work! Well worth it!

The app was a pretty cool at first, but needed a tutorial and more options to be useful. There are no measurements to even attempt bust, hip or bicep shaping. Since the dev abandoned the app several years ago in Feb 2012, I do NOT recommend buying this app. You'll be wasting your money. It is missing many basic capabilities. I recommend just getting a book that clearly helps you to begin making your own raglan sweater formulas, such as Ann Budd's Handy Books of Patterns series.
