About ADB Wireless (no-root)

Introducing ADB Wireless, the first android application in the Google Play store to provide a wireless ADB connection without root.

Features
✔ No-Root wireless ADB
✔ Easy to set up
✔ Portable & Tiny Desktop Application
✔ ADB functions the same as it would with a cable

Connect in seconds
1. Connect your phone to your desktop.
2. Click the "set up" button in the desktop app.
3. Unplug your phone and click "connect wireless".

For more information & the desktop app, go to http://sherdle.com/adb

NOTE:
-Only works on 4.0.4. or higher
-Windows PC with Java is required
-This app will only work if both (Pc & Phone) are connected to the same wifi network.
-Setup with a cable is required

Note that this application is in an early beta stage, especially the desktop application is very unstable. Due to the limitations of having no-root access, the phone gets disconnected after a certain time. We currently have no plans for expanding to other operating systems.

I actually needed the app for WiFi and cable connections but I discovered the stuff I'm asked to download is a jar file which I expected to be exe file. Also the jar file is not doing anything on my system. Please what do I do with the jar stuff I downloaded and how to go about it. Thanks.

Guys.. If u are developer.. You can do 1 click connect... 3 lines of code save as bat... Faster and accurate

K70%
by K####:

You guys are awesome and you made my day. I had much trouble connecting via usb and rooting my phone just for wifi adb made no sense to me. Keep up the good work.

K70%

I'm using this one with Samsung Galaxy S2 and it works very well! Barely ever disconnects or fails, easy to setup and run - and overall - very helpful!

H70%
by H####:

Basically this is a wizard to guide the developer through manual steps. Still needs a USB cable EVERY TIME. I.e. doesn't do what it's name claims. Also asks me to download and install other stuff I don't care about. Only works with operating systems I don't use for development. Wish there were negative stars.

Its a showing only images.. Not an app

K70%

Thank you for this awesome app... Wow! adb via WiFi without root! Still, need to be refreshed from while to while..

K70%
by K####:

You don't need the desktop app. On phone go to Settings > About > Status and note down IP address. Then open adb wireless (no-root) app and click connect with your PC. On PC, in a terminal, run: adb tcpip 5555, it should print "restarting in TCP mode port: 5555", then run: adb connect [phone_ip]. Done ;)

Just what I was looking for. My device cable started going wonky, and this WiFi App saves me immeasurable development time, without needing me to get root. Just follow the easy instructions.

N70%
by N####:

Please follow their instruction carefully, then you can see it works. I use Eclipse, disconnect usb, but i still can load android application. Good job. :).

It could be easier to set up and it could be explained better however the fact remains that it works :-)

But takes patience to get this to work

When I tried to download the portable client on my computer, it says "This file can harm your computer." Please Help Me!!!

W70%

Can't use the app at the moment because the computer application works not on MacOSX. Hopfully this will be solved in a next version.

Z70%
by Z####:

This app just shows some instructions to enable adb over tcp/ip. Connect your phone to a computer, from a command line on your computer, issue "adb tcp 5555" and "adb connect YOUR-PHONE-IP:5555". That's all you need. This app won't help you if you restart your phone or change your IP. You have to do it over again. Useless for me.

L70%
by L####:

It kind of defeats the point of writing the client application in Java when you can't run it on any Unix based OS towards which Android development is geared heavily.

D70%

Works perfectly. android studio detects device and everything! its simple and fast. good work!

I am a developer by profession. So far i have been facing this problem at my workplace to ask for cables so as to install and debug application under development. I don't know where the cables get disappear, every phone is supposed to have on in their box right. I started bringing my own cable and lost that too. :( Bad luck Then I came to know about this app from my friend, and I am so happy with it so far. I had tried all those thing that I used to do with cable.

W70%
by W####:

As a newcomer to android studio, I wasted hours trying to run an app using the emulator: disgracefully slow; or with USB connection: unreliable, kept disconnecting. Once connected with this app, my nexus stays connected and I can concentrate on developing my app. Thanks guys!

S70%
by S####:

Really it made ma work more easy. Now i don't have to look around for ma cable. Just connect and work. Easy to setup. Its more reliable than connecting through adb commands..

L70%
by L####:

Now i can access several devices over Wifi. I haven't had the chance to see if the app losses the connection after some time, but if it does I hope an solution is on the way.. Thanks for this app. Keep up the good work.

F70%
by F####:

Sure I recommend anyone, Nice UI too :) Just one advice: make setup little bit simple, it still confusing for developer

R70%
by R####:

It allows me to debug while I have a peripheral connected to the USB port, great :) Setup is very straightforward. Thanks!

D70%
by D####:

First, I have given all unworking adb apps 1 star. This one clearly had far more effort and is promising, let me know when issues are fixed. I install the desktop jar, run the phone app, set the ip. Wtf is platform-tools, do I enter the directory? Why no browse button? Then I go through the connection on the phone, it says it is connected, but, it isn't.

If you want to use adb protocol avoid Toshiba excite tablet and windows OS . The tablet specification are great but for developpement/driver not . it is feedback about hardware requirement not about the software regard's

If you're dumb, yes you are; don't download this tool. If you're handy and can work command line, know android, can read, can follow simple instructions, and don't rate apps negatively without contacting developer; download and use this tool. Great app. Thanks for your effort. No cable needed for me. I did as other user. Turn on Android Debugging. Started app, click Connect with your PC, Next, Next. At command line on PC I typed: # adb tcpip 5555 # adb connect ip Works fine.

Works with Galaxy Note 3, Note PRO, Toshiba Excite 13. Also works with the Note 8, although Eclipse doesn't recognize it correctly. (Probably OS problem). A few minor glitches. If I P address is over 127, set up displays signed negative value. Also, if Eclipse is up, exiting and killing adb before 'Set Up' gives the most consistent results. This tool enabled me to test with a device plugged into the USB port. Big win. Kudos to the developer.

T70%
by T####:

Great app, well written, smooth interface both on the PC and Android. My tablet no longer has a USB connection (broken pin) so I could not set up this app.

D70%
by D####:

Forget this app. I use Linux and Mac. You want me to install Windows just to get it to work? WOW.

Please add a donate button on your website! Ps a disconnect option on the device app may be a good idea to close the port after use?
