About Sparsecast Hyperlocal Forecast

Sparsecast provides weather predictions minute-to-minute for the next hour and both hour-to-hour and day-to-day for the next week. Forecasts are hyperlocal, accurate, and concise accounts of conditions at any location.

Natural language summaries digest complex weather data down to a few lines.
- "Light rain starting in 45 min."
- "Partly cloudy starting tomorrow morning, continuing until tomorrow afternoon."

Powered by the forecast.io API from The Dark Sky Company.

Weather data is averaged from several sources around the world. Visit http://forecast.io/raw/ for more information.

*Minute-to-minute weather predictions are currently limited to the US, UK and Ireland.

It does not open at all on 7.1 nougat

C70%
by C####:

Beautiful and accurate!

C70%
by C####:

Crashes immediately on marshmallow. Which is sad to say, I would pay for an app that looks this good and works as well as it did.

N70%
by N####:

Dark Sky weather is never accurate anyway.

T70%
by T####:

I used to love Sparsecast until it stopped working. Now it crashes continuously. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and I have the same problem. I would also really love to see a widget.

Z70%
by Z####:

On marshmallow it is crashing on launch. Please look into it and update the application. Thanks.

Z70%
by Z####:

Like others are saying I would like to see the weather at a glance with a widget rather than open an app. It's almost like if you made an app for showing the time. Great ui though.

Q70%
by Q####:

It seems like this app has been abandoned since Marshmallow came out. It no longer works. Crashes when trying to open. I'm gonna use another application that gets continued support.

Z70%
by Z####:

After my nexus 6 upgraded to Android Marshmallow, the app force closes upon opening.

Z70%
by Z####:

Now it only crashes immediately upon launching.

Z70%
by Z####:

And also no widget...

Z70%
by Z####:

Really simple and fresh weather app but all it needs is a widget.

Z70%
by Z####:

A decent widget would make it perfect

Z70%
by Z####:

Crashes everytime

Z70%
by Z####:

Won't work on nexus 5, Android 6

K70%

The Dev. is very responsive and awesome!

M70%
by M####:

The only thing missing is a widget to place on the home screen.

M70%
by M####:

I love this app but I have to uninstall because it doesn't seem to have a home screen widget!

X70%
by X####:

I love the simplicity for my phone but terrible for my nexus 10 in landscape. Phone 5...tablet 1

M70%
by M####:

It doesn't bring up anything anymore. I can't look at the forecast.

M70%
by M####:

Great blend of the Dark Sky iOS app design, and Material Design! Love it. Would love to see the option to use Flickr's Project Weather data for photos instead of the Instagram source.

M70%
by M####:

A dark theme would be really awesome

M70%
by M####:

How about a widget?

M70%
by M####:

App will not launch.

M70%

Always liked it before for its simplicity, but now the new vision style looks amazing.

M70%
by M####:

Like it. Don't get the need for a map unless it has a radar like the website does. Any chance of overlapping the color bar with text to indicate what each means, similar to the website (light blue is light rain, grey is cloudy, etc.)?

X70%
by X####:

Every time I tried to use this app, it closed on me.

M70%
by M####:

Looks like a very nice weather app but I can't really say as it crashes on open. Every.single.time. I'm running a rooted S3 with official 4.4.2 but no luck :(

M70%
by M####:

Love it but wish there was a widget for it

W70%

Weather apps shouldn't have ads. This one doesn't! So happy to find an app without ads! ! Finally someone who doesn't care only about $$$. Shawn; Don't ever put ads on this and you will soon have millions of installs. If only other developers realized what a turn off ads are. I cannot thank you enough!!! 20 stars out of 5.

By far the fastest to update on launch of all forecast integrated weather apps I've used... However I'm curious as to Why exactly selecting our preferred Google account is necessary to use the application!? All it should require (IMO) is location and network. There's no benefit to me, or requirement by forecast to have identity access. As the app currently has no ads, User ID for ad tracking is unnecessary, and is the only reason I can think for that permission requirement. Explanation appreciated.

What do the colors mean though on the summary page? EDIT: a color key/legend would be a super useful feature. Hope to see it soon.

C70%

Would be one of the best weather apps out there if there was a constant temperature notification. Please add!

Great app! Please add descriptions to the color timeline on the bottom: foggy, raining, snowing, etc.

One of the best apps for forecast.io I've used. I'd pay for push rain and storm alerts, and it could also use a way to save locations
