Songwriter's Notebook

Hey Shaun, I love this app so much! It's truly a God send for the songwriter. I was just wondering if you've abandoned the app as I haven't seen an update in a while. It would be nice to refresh the look of the app for a more modern feel and maybe add some customization tools like color, font and font size selections. As well, I would love the option of rearranging the music clips to go along with the lyrics. All in all, I just want to thank you for such an awesome app.

I've downloaded so many applications for my song writing, I just want to stick with this one. It would be the perfect app out of them all hands down if it just had these features. •Font Settings •Folders •Themes I was wondering if you plan to bring us any future updates, and if any of the said features would be added.

This app is exactly what i was looking for. I was a bit sketchy about spending $4.99 on this app because of other similar apps. This is by far the best one yet. It has the ability to rearrange sections of lyrics, easy to use recorder button, and an interface that is simple. One of my favorite points is the ability to export your songs, including your records, to dropbox or google drive. This makes it so easy to share a collaboration between my friends. If I would add one thing it would be the ability to add chords (sub notes) abouve the lyrics. Being a musician, this would be so helpful. I know this is primarily a song writers app but adding that feature would appeal to another audience. Just a thought.

It seems like this app doesn't realize it's true potential. - Google Drive Integration: It is an Android app after all. - Blocking Out Sections Of Songs: This would be very helpful, especially if you could associate a recording to a specific song section. As well as marking the chords used in each block. - Export Ability: It would be great to make PDF lead sheets, chord charts, etc. - Backup/Restore Ability: It happens, you switch to a new phone, and now you're strong from scratch again. This would allow for users to mitigate the impact.

Great app for organizing ideas. Not seeing anywhere to get the audio files within my phone's file browser. Most apps just have the files placed in their folder. Maybe I'm missing it, but this is a big deal. Shouldn't have to resort to exporting the files through other services.

Love it so far. I like that I can play a track from the music player and record my idea with the beat. If you ad a data sheet on the track so you can write info like tone, bpm and dates it would be terific.

Great app! Keeps my songs organized. Lyrics, melody and all. I just wish there was an import sound option. Other than that, this is the perfect for when you're writing songs on the go.

Has no real features , I can use Google Keep more efficiently

I really wish the recordings could be rearranged the way the lyrics can be. I tend to write in sections and sometimes want to reorder those sections. I love that I can drag and drop the words but no such luck with the recordings. This feature would make this app indispensable for me. I also really appreciate the clean simple layout of this app

I've been using this for a few months now and it's excellent. I used to record quick ideas using Voice Recorder, meaning my phone was full of files called Voice 00x. Now I use this app to group recordings, lyric ideas etc into songs. I'm a changed man.

Simple and easy to use, and the integration with Google Drive is seamless. Exactly what I was looking for.

This app does its job really well. It's super simple to use.

All it really needs is a feature to load my own intrumental so I get creative and write a full song.

I have a really nice handheld recorder I use to quickly record song ideas, the only problem is I end up with all these great ideas and clips but they never go anywhere because they get lost in the mess and I just get frustrated and circle begins, I just go round and around and I go nowhere.There is simply no organization. But thanks to this great app I can toss that away. This is truly a songwriters best friend, it keeps you completely organized by allowing you to add clips to specific songs that you are creating, and it does it without you having to think about it. Just hit record and you have a new clip added to whatever song you are working on or create a new song altogether.. I was hesitant about spending 5.00 on something I didn't demo first but I am so glad I did. This app is a total bargain at ten times that amount. I've tried dozens of apps in the past but this one by far is custom made for us songwriters and it does make us better songwriters because we can spend more time crafting our ideas rather than trying to find them among a mass of unorganized clips. I am excited I got this app when I did, I only wish I could rate it more than 5 stars. It's a winner.

Hi, I used Contact in the app to write you. Hope you get it. THX! ~ The app is awesome on a phone and last year I tried it and thought I'd revisit, only to find its not compatible with my Galaxy S2 now. Wouldn't be so bad but it doesn't offer any font support so it's not a perfect fit for my tablet. Which is what I purchased it on but wanted it for my phone and for some reason can't get a refund. Hence 3 out of 5 stars for me.

The app looks fantastic, and is incredibly easy to use. Definitely the best songwriter app that I've tried. I'm excited to see what the developer comes up with in the future.

There is truth in words, then there are the facts of life. With pen and paper writing methods, words can lose musicality they once flowed atop of. Over time written lyrics slide off into unfinished poems impressing no one. You love the message your song pitches, but as a cost you might not remember just what pitch or tone its origin had at the time. Songwriters Notebook gives you instant recall of that moment when your words and voice flashed with insight. Freestyling has never been so rewarding.

This is exactly what I'm looking for to organize my songwriting ideas. I tend to forget my ideas easily when looking for a pen and paper and a trusty recorder.

Fixed up nicely..

It's perfect for jotting down musical ideas. It stores text and recordings inside song folders. Just enough controls to be useful--It's not trying to be an audio workstation, so it loads fast and gets it done. The app syncs with my Dropbox acct. I understand that process may be streamlined in later versions, which will be welcome. I welcome more features, but not at the cost of responsiveness.

I have lost a lot of ideas because of this programs fault. I created a file called ideas. I go into that and record ideas. I hit record and it records and then I stop the recording... well after 7 recordings it just shows up and adds to the count of recordings, but you can only access 7 of them. SO i uploaded to dropbox and found 9!!! there should be like 20 in there. why is there 9 on drop box and 7 on the phone (even though it says 11)? This unfortunately means that I cannot use this. I really wanted to like this app.

Been looking for a solid app like this for so long. I would really like to be able to import my own instrumental and write along to that, as it would be the only basic function I need implemented. Simple, smooth and effective. I gladly paid for this app in hopes there are many updates to come.

I was looking for a songwriting app that didn't look like it was from the 18th century, and had the expected basic requirements. I like this app due to the combination of the slightly humorous encouragement and the sleek unintrusive design. This app has a bright future ahead of it if the developer adds more thoughtful features, say, the ability to add chord letters above specific points in the text.
