Road to Hana Maui Driving Tour

If there was a way to give 10 stars I would. We got tour guides for Hana and Haleakala both were amazing! Helpful, informative. Entertaining. Very specific details of where to go and where to stop as well as history of the island. Works with GPS so if you stop or get off track the app helps you get back on track and pick up where you left off. Highly recommend!

Simply put, this guide for the Road to Hana was the best money we spent on our whole trip to Maui. It was awesome, funny, and informative. You would never know to stop at half the places along the way without the guide. I would have paid $25 for it without question, so the $8 could not have been more worth it.

This app is no less than amazing... I could not imagine doing either of Maui tours without having this guide lead the way. The guide was informative and fun. A must have if you plan to sight see on the island.

This app was amazing! I would have missed the entrance and turns for so many attractions had the guide not mentioned it in advance. I loved that it mentioned parking, and walking directions once you park as well. The music selection was also ways a great fit for the scenery.

Very informative but dated in some aspects. We could not go to the best waterfall in Hawaii as it is now behind a locked gate. We could not go to one of the beaches as the bridge to it is under construction. Easy to listen to, kept us out of trouble and informed. Would buy it again!

This is a FANTASTIC App! SO VERY MUCH worth the $6.00!!! This app was recommended to us by a local young man. There were 6 adults in our car for this trip today & we all said it was so very enjoyable. MAHALO for putting this together! Great narrator & we all enjoyed the stories, history & decent jokes. Don't hesitate any longer & get this app!

This app was absolutely perfect!!! It was well worth the $6.00. My wife and I drove the Road to Hana in our rental car and without this app we would've missed so much of what there was to see and experience. The guide was a riot, had us laughing aloy with his corny jokes as he even laughed at his own jokes. Very informative and we learned more on this tour about Hawaii and it's history than we ever have. We enjoyed it very much. It's a must have for sure!!!

Best $10 spent on a tour of the island! You will spend hundreds more to book a tour with one of the local operations filled with other tourists. This was great because we were able to tour both routes at our own leisure rather than be at the mercy of a tour group's schedule. There's so much valuable insider information that you would miss if you drove the Road to Hana on your own. We also loved that the whole tour worked without having to use data or wait for a signal. It tracks everything by GPS and picks up where you left of in case you want to get out and wander at different stops. I only wish it continued the tour on the backside of Haleakala. Such gorgeous views and the stories would be awesome to hear on that side as well. Overall, this was a great app purchase! Mahalo!

Very helpful to locate difficult to find places. Never would have found the lava tube without its very specific guidance--kids loved it. Works great with GPS. We also enjoyed the history lessons on the trip back.

Did both tours offered for Maui and we loved it. Learned so many things that we never would have known otherwise. The host made our trip absolutely wonderful. It was very accurate and helpful on choosing what to srop for. I recommend to all!

Well worth getting. Driving instructions are essential especially to warn you where you can park - a tricky task on this narrow windy road. Found lots of out of the way places that we would never have seen. Would have liked to have more music/ stories in the gaps. The narrator is a bit OTT but not too annoying. Highly recommended.

Note that the first half of the tour is very factual about the stops and views. The ride back is more about Hawaii's history. We especially appreciated the tips on parking. For those who want to know the difference between the two most popular apps, we actually bought both and this one was far better technically. The map was more detailed with numbered stops and you could see the stops in list view OR map view - that option wasn't available in the other app. Highly recommend. Thanks guys!

We loved it!! Although we didn't make the whole trip, we'd have been lost without this app. It made the trip so much easier. Told us exactly what to do and what not to do. I will say that I agree with a review that I read before downloading that suggested music during downtime and the ability to repeat items. Other than that WELL worth the money.

It was very helpful for our trip to Hana - helped us discern what to see and to skip to fit the whole trip into a day. Occasionally it would get confused as to which direction we were going on some of the sharp turns, but other than that an excellent app! We're definitely going to use this app for other aspects of our trip!

Excellent app. Took us to many places people overlooked. Don't need a tour, download this app and your ready to go. My wife and I tried it on our honeymoon and couldn't be more happy with the trip 5 stars all the way!

Awesome app bruddah. It kept family engaged and what an excellent history lesson. We did the cave along route as recommended and found more caves just off the road. More music between to fill the silent spots would have been perfect but still a great app. Worth every bit of $5.99 paid.

Can't imagine doing the trip without this app. Saw cool things as others drove by. Be warned though, cant do it all in 1 day!

Amazing amazing tour. Informative, you wont miss anything of interest. My only suggestion to add woukd to have music playing in the background between the narrative points. And also the first few seconds of the narrative points on road to hana cut out and you miss information sometimes. Other than that i highly recommend

Not sure how i stumbled upon this app but i would have been lost without it... Literally. Did the road to Hana today and it was great. I could really relax and enjoy the drive and not stress about missing something. The personality of the tour guide is very likable and funny, he knew all the best spots and even tells you which are ok to skip if you're short on time. I enjoyed the Hawaiian music between stops and the stories about Maui's history were really interesting on the drive back to the hotel. This app is a must have and worth every penny and then some!

We just finished a Road to Hana tour and this is such an amazing app. Good thing I saw a review when I was browsing pinterest about Maui This made our Hana tour enjoyable and stress free. I'm glad this works even when your offline. I like how the tour continues up until our way back. I highly recommend this app.

We would've missed alot had it not been for this app, and we had things mapped out in advance. A road to Hana guide is a MUST

Great guide. Make sure to download the guide beforehand- we didn't have any cell signal for most of the road to Hana. The app tracks your location using GPS and overall does a really good job letting you know when you're approaching a spot to pull off and stop. On the way back the guide gave some interesting history about the area and Hawaii.

Excellent app! It was like having a friendly and local guide in the car with us, not just telling us about what's coming down the road, but also whom it might interest to actually stop at that attraction. The timing was immaculate and it worked seamlessly with the car's Bluetooth. We also learned about some of the history of Maui as we drove the road to Hana. Shaka made the drive a truly enjoyable journey. Thanks!

WOW! Simply WOW! We heard the stories that the Road to Hana is like no other in the world and that it could also be the Road to Divorce! NOT WHEN YOU HAVE THIS APP! My new wife and I hooked used this app, followed the tips, put the top down and had a FABULOUS time!!! Highly recommended!!! Best money we spent next to the kalua pork plate next to our hotel! I mean, they have a Shaka as a logo?! THANK YOU!!!

Shaka guide is awesome. Tour guide was fun and the GPS features worked flawlessly. Definitely would use other shaka tours if it comes up. Easily worth the price...

Fantastic app! This was as handy as a shirt pocket for the drive to see the sunrise at Haleakala. The directions to the different sites were great, but what I really loved was the bits of history and lore of the area. Nice work y'all!

This is a must if you plan on taking the road to Hana! We would have missed out on so much and not known what stops were must sees!!

The Road to Hana guide was the best $5 we spent on Maui. Made the drive an awesome memory. Such good advice on where to stop, timed perfectly for the drive and the stories about Kamehameha on the return drive were such a treat. Worth every penny.

Excellent app if you are doing "road to Hanna" since there is no mobile data reception in most of the areas. Accurate turn-by-turn road guide for many scenic spots. You don't need a tour guide if you have this app.

I'm so glad we purchased this for the road to Hana. The automatic narrations at key spots helped us find things we would have missed and we didn't have to follow along in a book, which meant no cat sickness!
