Преподобный Пимен Великий — христианский святой, почитаемый в лике преподобных в Православной и Католической церкви.
Пимен Великий родился в Египте около 340 года. Уже в молодости он почувствовал тягу к уединённой монашеской жизни, увлёк этим двух своих братьев и они ушли в пустынный Скитский монастырь.
В 407 году набег берберов привёл к разрушению обители и монахи были вынуждены переселиться в развалины языческого храма Теренуфис. Там они и провели остаток жизни. Насельники нового монастыря вели столь строгий и аскетический образ жизни, что этими своими подвигами добродетели привлекли к себе внимание и стали почитаемы окрестными народами.
Преподобному Пимену Великому молятся об исцелении от разных болезней, для помощи в учебе и ради дарования разума перед начинанием любого дела. Monk Pimen the Great - the Christian saint, revered in the face of the saint in the Orthodox and the Catholic Church.
Pimen the Great was born in Egypt about 340 years. Already in his youth he felt the urge to secluded monastic life, fascinated that two of his brothers and they went into the wilderness Skitsky monastery.
In 407, the Berber raid led to the destruction of the monastery and the monks were forced to move to the ruins of a pagan temple Terenufis. There they spent the rest of his life. Monks of the new monastery were so strict and ascetic lifestyle that these virtues of his exploits have attracted attention and became revered surrounding nations.
St. Pimen the Great pray for the healing of various diseases, to aid in the study and for the talents of the mind before undertaking any business.
