Через год заточения Иоанн из трусости решил покориться князю: он постриг бороду и стал есть мясо во время Великого поста, но при этом втайне исповедовал христианскую веру. Сподвижники были отпущены вслед за ним.
Но его брат Антоний, не оставивший ревнования о Христе, продолжил соблюдать церковные посты, и был брошен в темницу. Эти события вызвали раскаяние у Иоанна, который объявил о своей вере во Христа и был заключен в темницу вместе с братом. После года заключения братьев казнили через повешение.
Спустя некоторое время их родственник Евстафий решил открыто исповедовать Христа перед Ольгердом, отказавшись есть мясо во время Великого и Рождественского постов. Князь пришел в ярость и приказал немедленно его казнить.

After a year of imprisonment of cowardice John decided to submit to the prince: he vows his beard and began to eat meat during Lent, but secretly confessed the Christian faith. The companions were released after it.
But his brother Anthony, will not leave the jealousy of Christ, the church continued to observe fasts, and was thrown into prison. These events have caused the repentance of John, who has declared his faith in Christ and was imprisoned with his brother. After years in prison brothers were executed by hanging.
After some time, their relative Eustace decided to openly confess Christ before Algirdas refusing to eat meat during the Great and Advent. Prince flew into a rage and ordered his immediate execution.
