Святой священномученик Харалампий был епископом в городе Магнезии, в Фессалии. Он обратил ко Христу многих из язычников, наставлял их на путь спасения, поучая Слову Божию. За Евангельскую проповедь святого епископа Харалампия привели на суд к правителю Лукиану и военачальнику Лукию, где подвергли жестоким истязаниям.
Военачальник Лукий сам взял орудия пыток и жестоко терзал тело святого Харалампия, но вдруг руки его отнялись у локтей. Лукиан, увидя это, плюнул в лицо священномученика Харалампия, и внезапно голова его повернулась назад лицом. Тогда народ, объятый ужасом, стал молить святого мученика отвратить Божий гнев. С ними просил и Лукий. По молитвам святого мученика Лукий и Лукиан были исцелены. Тогда и Лукий уверовал во Христа и крестился. Множество очевидцев также обратились к истинной Христовой вере, другие получали исцеления от различных недугов по молитвам священномученика Харалампия.
