This Android app was specifically designed to SIM unlock any LG handset.
The app can be downloaded and installed for free. However the actual unlocking of the phone is a paid service.
We are a distributor for the LG codes. At the time when a handset is manufactured, its IMEI (15 digits serial) together with a unique set of codes is stored in a database. The manufacturer via the carriers and third-party professional services like ours distributes these codes.

-1 star for having to create an account. Received the unlock code 30 minutes after the PayPal transaction went through. Used the alternate method to unlock as I didn't have a different SIM. Found my phone's model in Settings-About-hardware info.
