SMBSync2 for Android
was going to give 5 stars until i ran a backup/move from internal sd to external sd in test mode and then ran the same in normal mode. latter (normal mode) did not work as the test mode had already created each source file as a 0 byte file, so it failed as i correctly (on my part) did not use the overwrite option. very annoying fault. please fix.
Excelent job, fast, many configuration options and so far reliable. Small problem on 6.0.1 when it autostarts after boot it does not recognize SDcard. If killed (from the menu) and re-run, all is well. Maybe a small delay will solve problem? Also SMB files datetime are never same as original datetime (Win NT 4.9). Thank you for your work.
Worked first try, very fast sync to drive mounted on my router, 9 seconds for over 300 images, easy to select files etched, one thing... At first glance I think it changed the file date and time, will watch next time, I'm using Android 5.1 and sync image files to a smb drive, no problems with permissions Is a surprise, thanks very much
Works fast. But the move option (at least to an extSDcard) is not a file move. It copies the file, and the file in the new location loses the original timestamp and has a new current timestamp. Then when the app deletes the file in the original location, so goes the original time stamp. If timestamps of files, or dates of when photos are taken are not important to you, this app works great.
IT WORKS! And no questionable permissions or activities as far as I can see. This is a true SYNC app which, unlike most WiFi transfer & share programs, original file dates & times are preserved on the target! One of the BEST FREE apps in the Play Store!! Kudos must be given to the developer Sentaroh!!!
a little sensitive to network delays but it works well otherwise... also rare to be free with no ads and no nag for donations
I wonder why only 1000+ downloads this application have. Excellent application! Very easy to set up and it does what it says. Everybody who having NAS should use this instead of any cloud sync. Don't forget: Your data is yours as long it belongs to you... Thank you dev this nice application!
This app is perfect! Syncs my phone with my home bsd box. Any folder of my choosing. Also makes internal backups to my SD card. Ad free! Great job dev!
CAUTION: Poorly written, does not check time of files. Just overwrites regardless - even if destination file is actually newer. Test option doesn't work.
It requires WiFi. It will not work over gsm/wireless with vpn, and there's no way to disable WiFi check.
Seems to work well, but on my Galaxy Tab A with android 6 it won't select the micro sd card, even though I've gone through selecting it.
Finally, fully functional sync app, working with nougat and external SD card. For free! That design tho...
Wow. Best tool to sync your files with your device. Fast and easy configuration. I like it.
This app made my life easier.
Simple yet effective backup and data sync tool to my and storage.
So fast, testing had gone very well.. Seems to be working nicely and fast.. Some of the English can make things a bit confusing.. Also, the option to play notification sound seems to be using the media volume rather than the notification volume..and thus very loud!
Works very nicely. And excellent support, which is most important. I use it to synch 7,000 music files from a PC to my phone.
When I check on use usb otg it says that no usb is mounted while I can browse the otg flashdrive's content via file explorer

March 30, 2017 - I think I found another bug. If the SMB share has a directory in it that has an open square bracket "[" in its name, the bracket would be lost after running a sync job, or restarting the app. //March 29, 2017 - It's very good, it's the fastest SMB client that I've tried thus far. But, I do have a couple of bug reports that I'd like to make. 1. If I set up my "target" folder first before setting up "master" folder, I have to set up the "target" folder again. 2. (This is more important) If my SMB server had 3 ip addresses, let's say 192.10.0.1/24, 192.20.0.1/24, 192.30.0.1/24, then if I try to access the SMB server using a "server" name from my android device having the ip adderess of 192.30.0.2/24, the name of the server would always get resolved to 192.10.0.1/24. Obviously, that is incorrect, since the network the two devices were sharing is 192.10.0.x/24. Hopefully, the developer would have the time to look into it. This is a really useful app.
